HDR playback on Samsung galaxy s10+

Hi, I was wondering if this is an known issue or as per design.

 

HDR playback not active on emby app over direct play using a LAN connection (400mbps), files plays smooth but no HDR active, image is washed out

 

HDR does however become active on Kodi app under direct playback using emby for kodi (18.1 Lea) addons 4.0.5, file again is played smooth and hdr is visible

 

Files are mkv Hevc 265 Main 10, they are on my media storage connected to my computer.

 

Any thoughts? I am a newbie so please advise if I have missed something or do not understand how the app should work.

I have also a Samsung galaxy tab s4, android version 8, same problem

 

I have never noticed this until today as i have always been using emby addon in kodi rather than the app

The both Samsung devices do support HDR, with the s10+ supporting HDR10+

I think we probably just have a little work to do regarding HDR on samsung devices. Thanks.
