Emby Server / Kodi stopped Sync'ing

Last week I noticed there was an update to Emby for Unraid. I successfully installed the upgrade. At that point in time the sync stopped working either automated when starting Kodi or manual sync with 18.1. I remember I had to edit a database number but I think that time has passed since Kodi 18 is now released and out of beta. I did see a note once "Library thread has aborted please post in forum." I also saw it stuck at "Extras". It also asks me for my credentials every time I start Kodi. I have tried both manual and Emby Connect. It accepts my credentials and performs a sync as of today and yesterday but new information that is in Emby from accessing Emby directly is not transferred to Kodi. I mean several new media files that were successfully added. Right now that's the only way I know it's not working is that the new movies are not populated in Kodi. Other than those error messages from several days ago, there are no more other than it needing my credentials upon startup.

Use the latest emby for kodi.

First of all, the version you are using is not compatible with Kodi Leia. Second, the Emby server 4.x contains breaking changes and is not compatible with this add-on version. I recommend either updating everything or don't update anything (revert back to 3.5).

I see. All I did was see that the server prompted me to update. And I did actually go into the add-on inside Kodi and hit 'update' and nothing happened. I will research that further.

I'm back in business. So simple. I've just been lulled into the auto-updates that I didn't check the basics. I was getting "update failed" so I uninstalled and reinstalled and that brought up the prompt for v4.05 (I think.) Thank you for your time.

Update: I lost all my animated artwork within Kodi. I hate doing database resets as this happens. It takes awhile to go through several hundred owned (ripped but I have the physical media) movies and re-selected animated artwork. There's no simpler way to restore them other than one by one as far as I know. (I guess that's a question, is there?) Would it be possible to in the future to stop knocking out animated posters when selecting DO NOT REMOVE CACHED ARTWORK which I was very careful to do?

Update 2: All my 3d case tags are gone inside Kodi. I realize that that display is a Kodi function. But they were there before the upgrade and now they're not. I"ll head over to the Kodi forum and start working on that including upgrading the skin. I just mention it here because I hate these unanticipated side effects of upgrades / database repairs that suddenly steal 2-3 hours of your life unbudgeted away....
