Emby 4.0.2.0 Newly created playlist does not have delete option

 I just created a playlist, And decided I wanted to delete it, because the media isn't in the order I wanted. 

I found that there is no way to delete the playlist, and there is also no way to edit it in anyway.

Does this emby user have delete permissions?

Currently, it is the only user. Which is I guess an admin user.

I just double checked. My user has all permissions, and the only checkbox not checked, is 'disable this user'. And I am able to delete media, I tried it.

Also, to be clear, there isn't a specific 'delete playlist' permission. There is permissions for everything else tho.

   

 

See if I uncheck All libraries, these are the available granular permissions. However neither configuration allows for me to delete playlists.

Hi, if you edit the metadata of the playlist, does it show a path?

Not anywhere that I can see. I don't even see a missing field for a path.

Is there a DB I can just wipe to delete it?

And old thread, and I'm using Emby Version 4.5.2 and this seems the norm on my version and if I remove all the entries in that playlist the playlist is gone. Same thing with collections.

 

Inside the Playlist or Collections, you right click the item and select remove.. Don't click on Delete because it will delete your playlist and actual files... That Delete button is a really bad idea.

Sheldon -- I mean Luke ... I never want to be off topic, but that delete feature in playlist and collections is how I found this thread, and was looking to see if there's a way to remove it. Seems like an accident waiting to happen. I'd prefer to delete the files manually, then do a scan to tell Emby they're gone.

 

As for removing playlist entries - is there a way to select all entries instead of doing them one at a time? One music playlist that Emby created by itself has over 3,000 songs listed - that's a lot of entries to remove to get rid of the playlist...

There might be some misunderstanding here. Deleting the playlists does not delete the actual songs.

I just realized that before coming back here to check... I'm a new user and saw a big warning and got the hell out of there LOL - I clearly see the path written, and they are not my files...

And I can assume it's the same thing on the TV display?

I still don't like the delete button showing on the TV display - especially for users other than myself since I don't see a way to turn it off. I unchecked allowing media deletion from all libraries but I don't see Playlist or Collections listed.
