husmoaschta 1 Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 Why is Emby not recognizing, for example, "Bruce Springsteen & The E-Street Band" or "Eagles" or so much more well known bands/artists???
d00zah 149 Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 (edited) Emby identifies music based on embedded ID3 tags, rather than folder/track names. Check out a tool like MusicBrainz Picard, or Mp3tag. Based on info in the WIKI, this changed somewhere along the line. Edited March 3, 2019 by d00zah
Luke 42085 Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 Hi there, are your music files tagged with this data?
husmoaschta 1 Posted March 4, 2019 Author Posted March 4, 2019 Yes. It's all tagged As I said - PLEX is doing the job well ...
Luke 42085 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Hi, what does your music folder structure look like? What are you seeing in Emby? Can you describe your issue in more detail? Thanks!
embra55 0 Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Hi, I don't know if this is the right place for this, but here goes. When adding my library, I notice that when artists who feature another artist on a song in an album, that the featured artist is given an album artist folder for itself. When I enter this album, it show the whole album for the original album artist. For example: Album artist, Willie Nelson - Greatest Hits - Highwayman feat. Waylon Jennings. Waylon Jenning gets a Album Artist folder to himself, which contains all the song form Willie Nelson's Greatest Hits album, so I have 2 entries of the same album. Various Artists produces 2 folders for Various Artists, not all duplicated but some duplicate, and featured artists getting folders to themselves. I have tagged all my music with MP3Tag, and used, from within this program, MusicBrainz to get the info. I have tried uninstalling Emby and clearing everything from the App folders, yet still this anomaly returns. So any suggestions as to how to remedy this would be appreciated. If I have posted in the wrong place, then apologies Regards, and thanks, Ronnie
Luke 42085 Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 @@embra55, what exactly do you mean by album folder? Where exactly do you end up seeing this? Is it possible to show a screenshot example? Thanks !
embra55 0 Posted May 7, 2019 Posted May 7, 2019 Hi Luke, Can I get back to you on this as I've lost my Windows PC. However I've sent a help request for EMBY on Mac OS. Thanks again, Ronnie
