When they use it incorrectly, sure, but how else would search be useful in Emby? It never shows all the content (or metadata that Emby searches through as well) at the same time so that in-browser search could do anything useful.

 

If you find it annoying, maybe it could be a user preference?

Well the problem is we don't have a search dialog, so that means the keyboard shortcut would actually navigate to the search screen. I suppose it is possible though.

Yeah that would work for me. Alternative maybe would be for the shortcut to open a small search dropdown that would only take you to the search results page when acted upon, so if you hit it by accident it wouldn't jerk you to somewhere completely different.
