Good morning,

I use the genre section to identify additional categories (foreign films, Criterion versions, etc.).  In the last several days, I've backed up films and cannot save the additional genres.  I add the genre and click save and the icon switches to the date saved field (which I note now has a calendar pop-up, nice!) and the added genre is not saved.  Also, when the edit metadata screen is up, there is now a shading across the entire bottom of the window - about 10-15% of the window in height.

I am using the Windows server v.4.0.2.0 on Windows 10

Thanks!

Hi there, why exactly do you feel the genre is not saved?

@@Happy2Play are you able to reproduce?

Posted

The new genre does not show up on the movie information screen and the movie does not show up in the genre folder.

More information:

1.  This appears to be specific to the newest film I added.

2.  When I click on "save" the cursor moves to the Date added fields.  If I delete the information in these field and hit save, the new genres are added.

3.  The date added field adds the specific time of day and has a calendar function - both of which I have not seen before.

Thanks!

Please verify your server version as you are describing a change in the beta server.

The stable release does not show timestamp in date added.

Okay how are you connecting to your server?  I bet you are using Connect and Connect technically is not using that server version.   What version number is shown in Active Devices?

Posted (edited)

The dashboard (Chrome) states 4.0.2.0

When I launch the application (on the same PC that the server is running) I get:

SilentPC
Emby Theater 2.8.1

Interesting.  Happy to help with the Beta testing.

I did try to use the beta version a long, long time ago and thought that I was out of that.

Thanks!

I can't get any of my 4.0.2.0 systems to display time in that field, and app.emby.media has not been updated to .11 so I don't see it there either.

But as long as you set the seconds in date added to 00, you can save edited genre, correct?

Posted

When I deleted all the values in the date added fields it saved the new genre.

I just tried deleting the seconds and that allowed it to work.

One additional change is that the genres no longer automatically alphabetize on the movie information screen.

Thanks!

What do you mean?

The genre listing in the edit metadata screen is alphabetical after listing new genres.  The movie listing screen (attached) does not have them alphabetized.  I looked at a several others that were previously saved and they are also not alphabetized.

Not a functional issue, I just thought you should be aware.

Thanks!

What release is that as 4.1.0.12 still has this datetime issue.  Will post in other topic as it appear .12 added more to the Time.

Still not sure how OP is seeing this on 4.0.2.0 though.

Will do some more testing on Genre order but I have seen the same behavior.

Seems to be at least partially an Emby Theater issue.

I installed a fresh, current version and the ability to edit metadata returned.  Also, the edit metadata was functional on my Pixel Tablet at the same time that I could not on the Windows version, which led me to reinstalling Emby Theater for Windows.

The genres still don't alphabetize properly...

Thanks!
