BlazedMonkey 111 Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 I watched the trailer for a movie on the 25th, and the trailer was marked as watched. I liked the trailer, so I added the movie to radarr, and a couple days later it was downloaded. Now, because I have watched the trailer, it is marking the movie itself as being watched. Trailer marked as watched on the 25th Movie didn't actually download until the 28th, but was already marked as "watched" when it was JUST downloaded. If I had "hide watched movies" enabled, I wouldn't have even seen that it got downloaded. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?
BlazedMonkey 111 Posted March 1, 2019 Author Posted March 1, 2019 What plugin did you watch the Trailer in? I used the "Trailers" plugin that I installed after I upgraded to premiere. I watched it through the "Latest Trailers" menu on the home page of emby.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 @@Luke I was able to reproduce this watching a trailer in "New and Upcoming in Theaters", then added a test file (stub) movie for that trailer I just watched and it was marked watched when the movies was imported. I appear to get different results on different servers though. One system I can mark and unmark trailer and it applies to media and on another server I can't. My tests were on Windows beta 4.1.0.11 with trailer plugin 1.1.9.0.
Luke 42078 Posted March 3, 2019 Posted March 3, 2019 Yes i can reproduce, and this can be easily fixed, although it may result in some loss of user data for existing trailers.
BlazedMonkey 111 Posted April 2, 2019 Author Posted April 2, 2019 Just got another one today, same issue. @@Luke mentioned it was an easy fix a month ago, is a fix for this rolling out any time soon? Also, not sure if it's related so I'm not sure where to make a post about it: The trailers in the "latest trailers" section on the home page hasn't updated with anything new since I installed the trailers plugin. I know new trailers have come out in the last 2 months, but nothing new ever seems to populate in the list. Thanks
Happy2Play 9780 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Just a matter of when 4.1 gets released. Trailers have always been flaky. I assume they come from Emby as Luke has mentioned in other topics that they will get them updated. 1
BlazedMonkey 111 Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 4.1 is out, this appears to be broken still. Any update?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 4.1 is out, this appears to be broken still. Any update? I am not seeing the reported behavior in 4.1.1.0. I just retested playing multiple trailers via "New and Upcoming in Theaters" and none of the actual Movies were marked as watched.

Sorry, didn't have a chance to get back to this thread until just now. Watched the trailer for "Captive State (2019)" around a month or so ago, trailer was marked as watched when it finished playing. Yesterday, it actually added to my collection, and the movie itself was already marked as watched. If I had to guess, I'm thinking that perhaps only trailers that were already marked as watched prior to the fix for 4.1 are going to be affected, but those marked after the fix (i.e. how @@Happy2Play was testing) are not affected. I just tried a simulated run with the "Joker (2019)" trailer and an empty .mkv mock file, and I didn't have any issues with the movie file being marked as watched already. SIDE NOTE: Marking a trailer as "watched" is not persistent through a server restart. It resets the status back to unwatched as soon as you restart the server. Is this the intended operation?

Since it was already marked watched, there no way to undo that but, it won't happen in the future. 1

Happy2Play 9780 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Hmm, must be a quirk somewhere as I used multi-select and now they are persisting after watching or marking as watched. Only tested on beta as stable is currently unavailable.
Luke 42078 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 I tested Joker by setting it from the detail screen. That one seemed to be fine after restarting.

I was watching and setting via "New and Upcoming in Theaters" library and itemdetails and they were not persistent until I marks a bunch of trailers via multi-select as watched.
BlazedMonkey 111 Posted May 31, 2019 Author Posted May 31, 2019 I marked 10 different movies using my Shield through the "Latest Trailers" section on my home screen. None of them persist.
BlazedMonkey 111 Posted June 1, 2019 Author Posted June 1, 2019 How does the web app compare? Exactly the same. Watched status does not persist through reboot.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Got my beta server to maintain watched statuses, but can't get any portable or installed version to persist on my test machine.
BlazedMonkey 111 Posted September 29, 2019 Author Posted September 29, 2019 this is still broken by the way...
