best practise: Music Videos / DVD collection of Music Videos

Hi There,

I have a few dvds with collections of music videos.
Now, I am just thinking about the best way to import them into emby.

Options:
1. Music Video Library -> rip the DVD and cut the ripped DVD so that there are finally all Video clips available as a single file
2. Music Video Library -> rip the DVD and just keep it in one peace -> maybe, I need to activate some options in order to receive meta data updates from the Meta data providers (if available)

3. Movie Library -> put the whole DVD "as is" into a Movie Library

for Option 1) Are there any recommendations about the folder structure of each of these DVDs?
e.g.

Abba /

     Complete Collection /

          01 - waterloo.mkv

          02 - mama mia.mkv
          03 - ....

for Option 2 & 3
Abba /
    Complete Collection /
             Complete Collection.mkv

for Option 2 + 3 I don't think, that there will be a way to recognize the different Video Clips - except, they are splitted into chapters on the disc itself - right?

Thanks and with best regards,

Christoph

My way of dealing with Music Videos is to use a MV Library type

Have folders by Album Artist\video Name\video name.mkv

or Album Artist\Video.mkv

Make sure the IMVDB plugin is added to Emby

For you to get a match on IMVDB - video name - needs to match exactly what IMVDB has it as (check website) - and a small amount of extra metadata will be added (although nothing to get excited about) as there not much on IMVDB - this is a IMVDB limitation not Emby

IMVDB might not be worth the hassle depending how many MV's you have

So in my case a slightly modified version of Option 1

Option 2 - would also work but you wont get an metadata - if thats important to you

Option 3 - dont think its supported and if it is only a limited number of clients would support it
