Can you try from the local machine on localhost? Thanks.

What Emby app are you playing with?

Posted

I tried with the webapp emby but also casting on my chromecast. I also tried with the iOS application available on the apple store.

The problem occurs in a local network but also in a remote network.
The problem seems to be present on some files but on most other files it works without problem.
The workaround is to download the file and read it with VLC for the moment. If necessary I can put an example file available.

Have you tried reencoding the file?

I do not have emby premiere and why should you reencode the file it should be play by Emby?

I am just asking if you tried that. What is different about these files vs. the ones that play, do you know?

Unfortunately I can not try. I do not see much difference between what works and what does not work. I am not familiar with formats and encoding.
I just see that my file is encoded in x264 like a lot, and that it is in mkv.

I had no problem in the web app with the sample file you provided.

Ok I just found a clue.
I have two files one for the language in English and one in French.
I moved the file in English and read the file in French.
I then delivered the file in English and reading also worked.

I reproduced the problem with another series but this time the problem does not occur at first reading but when I click on resume.
You want me to send you the two files (because there is also a French and English version) as well as the logs?

Yes please, thanks.

Are you still seeing this?

I have the same problem with two new files downloaded on two different episodes. But this time it's not just clicking on "resume" but also clicking "play" the first time.

It's the same archituecture for each episode I have two files one in English and one in French.

I have to download the episodes to watch them.
