Not sure if this request is posted right here or should be in the Plugin section ...

 

I've searched the forum but i can't find any entry for a plugin request for notification by matrix cient e.g. riot.im

 

Would be very nice to have a notice about updates / new entree / new user by this notification way.

 

 

What is matrix -> have a look at this blog

The formerly named "Riot-xx" clients where re-named into Element.

Element is a messaging client using the matrix network and with fully E2EE.

Emby is already using slack as a notification target why not element too?

Would be very very good to have the matrix protocol for the usage for emby notifications, either.

Matrix is growing very fast and others would appreciate to get a method to get informed by matrix client instead of email.

My Emby dev time right now is focused on wrapping up and releasing my Iconic plugin, but I could take a look in a couple of weeks.

I have build this with a matrix webhook gateway and ScripterX.
simplified:

1. ScripterX runs a shell script (see here).
2. Shell script post informations via curl to the webhook gateway address
3. matrix webhook gateway plugin format it and send it to the bot
4. the bot notifies me about new movies.

yes this isn't a lean way to notify via matrix but it works. Hope it can be easier in the future.
I think the best way would be a easy configurable webhook plugin for all the webhook services out there.
