niczoom 0 Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 (edited) Emby has been working fine before but just lately when I manually add a movie I get the following error in my logs: 2019-02-20 21:14:31.568 Error BaseItem: Error refreshing owned items for \\LOUNGE\MOVIES\Recovery ... System.UnauthorizedAccessException: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path '\\LOUNGE\MOVIES\Recovery' is denied. I dont have any folders named \Recovery or \Recovery\Logs And the scan doesn't continue and find my new movie folder, any ideas? Logs attached. emby.txt Edited February 21, 2019 by niczoom
Luke 42083 Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Please attach the complete emby server log. Thanks.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Full log attached. Would appear you forgetting to hit "attach this file".
niczoom 0 Posted February 20, 2019 Author Posted February 20, 2019 File now attached !! You were right, I didn't even see the 'Attack This File' button, just assumed the file was attached once I chose the file emby.txt
niczoom 0 Posted February 21, 2019 Author Posted February 21, 2019 Hi Luke, I have now attached the log correctly, thanks.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 I suspect this is a hidden folder, have you enabled show hidden folders? Might have to put a ".ignore" file in this folder once it is found.
niczoom 0 Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 Yes, in explorer I have, under the View tab, 'Hidden Items' checked. There is no folder named 'Recovery'.
niczoom 0 Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 Wierd thing is that when i type the address '\\Lounge\movies\Recovery' in exploer i get: the error message indicates that theire is a folder anmes Recovery and i dont have permission to access it. and if I type a random folder name like '\\Lounge\movies\asasasas' i get this message: This indicates their is no folder named 'asasasas' as it says 'Ceck the spelling of the name'. Wonder why I cant see the folder even with 'Hidden Items' checked. I gonna try and restarting window then possibly boot into safe mode and check this out.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 Almost sounds like it may be a system folder. Does it appear if you uncheck "Hide protected operating system files". I wouldn't expect this within a folder share but don't know your setup. Where exactly does this share point to?
niczoom 0 Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 Yep, exactly what it was! I forgot all about "Hide protected operating system files", unchecked this and deleted the 'Recovery' folder. I then clicked 'Scan all libraries' and it picked up my latest movies! I've no idea why this folder appeared. My 'MOVIES' share is just my E: drive where I store all my movies, which in Emby is a Media Library pointed to \\LOUNGE\MOVIES. Anyway, thanks for your help.
Happy2Play 9783 Posted February 22, 2019 Posted February 22, 2019 If that is the root of the that drive, that would explain it as if anything ever goes wrong with the drive I believe that would where the OS would try to recover information. You should always use a folder on any drive. But glad we figured it out.
niczoom 0 Posted February 22, 2019 Author Posted February 22, 2019 Ok great, I didn't know that information. I'll look into moving all my movies to a 'Movie' folder at some point soon. Thanks for your help.
niczoom 0 Posted March 18, 2019 Author Posted March 18, 2019 No, it only ever happened that 1 time. Since deleting that folder and creating a new Movies folder the issue hasn't recurred.
