Nothing can connect

So I get up today and all of a sudden nothing can connect locally. I mean I can use the PC that the server is running on to connect but any other devices that are on the network cannot connect to it whatsoever.

Sounds like a firewall issue if no other local device can connect.

Hi there, please check out our connection troubleshooter:

https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Connectivity

Please try the steps listed there and let us know which ones succeed and which ones do not. Thanks!

I tried this already and nothing worked. I cannot go into the router because I  dont have the admin rights to do that.  The thing is there's someone else who's been using Emby same as me and they have no issue and we're on the same network.

So you have no control over your own router? Who is the admin of that?

Do you mean other devices can't connect to Emby specifically or can't connect to the computer that the Emby server is on.

Meaning, other computers can't see shared files, folders or printers?

Have you rebooted the computer? Always step 1 in the IT world, especially with Windows. :)

The campus IT admins.  The weird thing is I can use another media server application and it'll work but not Emby.

Ok if this is all inside the LAN network, then this suggests that you may want to focus on the firewall on your server machine, as that may be blocking it.

What inbound firewall rules do you have for "emberserver"?  (private, public)

Is your network profile set to private or public?

Inbound Rules are set to default haven't touched it and network profile is set to public.

Your neteork should be Private.

Do you not see a private and public firewall rule?  As my setup would be blocking on a Public network.

Well it would appear to be a Campus network.  To me no different then the coffee shop.

When you try to connect from another device, how exactly are you trying to do that?

I'm using the in-home LAN access IP.

Occasionally the server can detect this incorrectly. Are you sure this is the correct ip address of your server machine?

Positive. I'm even coping and pasting the given IP to ensure it inst me making a mistake by typing it in.

Sounds link you might need to set the "Bind to local network address" then.  Dashboard-Advanced
