I tried refreshing meta data, tried deleting meta data, tried moving the episode files away from directory, and refresh, and vice versa. I'll provide logs and prints. It is TV series that are affected right now. Please help. Everything new i put in my TV series category doesn't get recognized. 1.txt 2.txt 3.txt 4.txt 5.txt Edited February 14, 2019 by Shidapu 1

Luke 42078 Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 neither of those updates themself correctly What exactly does this mean? How did you set up the library in Emby library setup?

Shidapu 14 Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 Did you upgrade from 3.5? Yeah I did. But that was when it was released.
Luke 42078 Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Ok, i believe this is likely a data related problem associated with the upgrade, and not a general issue relating to those file names. In other words, if you were to add a brand new series, I think those would be fine.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 (edited) Nothing is standing out on why they are not being detected. Have you tried removing those Series doing a library scan and re-adding them? What happens if you drop those series in a New Library? Oops looks like you got it sorted by renaming Season folders. Inodder 0 Posted March 4, 2019 Posted March 4, 2019 (edited) I had pretty much the same problem. To me it occured on 3 Newly added TV shows. (for now) Top Gear (2002),Top Gear Extra Gear (2016) and The Grand Tour (2016) Emby would show these Shows on the Series tab, but Thes series would have no episodes listed. No green unwatched items indicator on the overview, nor would it list any episodes once you click the series. I had done multiple library scans, refreshed meta data. removed the files and added them back noting worked. After reading this thread I tried 2 thing, which both worked. Both similar to the above mentioned "solution" One thing i tried was just to be rid of the season folder all together. Just placed the episode right in the series folder with no season subfolder. The other thing i tried was renaming the season folder from "Season 4" to "Season 04" The funny thing about it all is: The original season folders where created by the Auto Organize function in Emby. The episodes where in the "watch folder" They where automatically recognized and sorted. and the corresponding Series folders and season folders where created. How wil we prevent this form happening again? It seems like this is happening to all the (automatically created) new shows auto organize adds. Edited March 4, 2019 by Inodder
Luke 42078 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I think it should be resolved for the next release, thanks.
Inodder 0 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 I think it should be resolved for the next release, thanks. So you know what's the problem? No more testing or logs needed? Could you enlighten us? Would like to know what's going wrong and causing the problem....
Luke 42078 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 There are changes to TV folder detection in the next release. Thanks.
Shidapu 14 Posted March 15, 2019 Author Posted March 15, 2019 Just wanted to add in that the latest version didn't fix my issues completely. Only Season 1 folder is visible in Emby, with the issues that has been described earlier. But atleast it's going in the right direction!
Luke 42078 Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 Sorry, by next release I meant version 4.1+. Thanks.
Erik 124 Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 (edited) Same here with a clean install (no backup restore all from scratch) of 4.0.3. I have a TV shows library that have series with: all the proper seasons and episodes, missing seasons an no episodes in any of the seasons showing and one series with no seasons showing. They all worked with Emby 4.0.3 prior to me removing Emby and doing a clean install (I wanted a clean install for the guide data switch to Emby from SD). As my media is unaccessable at the moment, is there a way to get the media to detect currently? Or do I have to wait for 4.1 Thanks. Edited March 26, 2019 by Erik

Please see how to report a problem. thanks.
Erik 124 Posted March 26, 2019 Posted March 26, 2019 (edited) Thanks @@Luke , I was going on the fact you had made changes already to fix this, just not available in the stable version yet. If you want logs anyways, let me know and I’ll be happy to send them to you. Erik Edited March 26, 2019 by Erik
Erik 124 Posted April 1, 2019 Posted April 1, 2019 No, I just added a library and not all episodes detected. I decided to fix it by removing all metadata and fresh install of Emby without any restoring backup and it’s working again. I know it was an extreme way to fix it, but I needed it up and running for the family.
shpankey 11 Posted May 21, 2021 Posted May 21, 2021 Sorry to bring this back up but I recently started having this exact issue. For several shows, but for this example, Doctor Who is not being seen. It does see all of the "Specials" in the Specials folder but none of the ones in the Season. This seemingly happened overnight to 3 shows (I've seen so far, assuming there is more).

But there are several recent topics on new update not reading/display episodes. Can you go over and example to include folder and file naming. Is it something like this? https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/98182-46-episode-display-issue Edited May 21, 2021 by Happy2Play
toddgreve 0 Posted October 1, 2021 Posted October 1, 2021 Only posting here in case it helps someone else since I cama across this thread with the same problem of shows not showing in some of my newly added series, although typically one or two shows would be visible. I tried the renaming of "Series XX" folders etc to no luck. What worked for me was renaming the filenames of the video files I added under the series. For example, "Who Do You Think You Are (UK) - S14 E06 - Lulu.mp4" down from "Watch Who Do You Think You Are (UK) - Series 14 E06 - Lulu.mp4". On further experimenting it had nothing to do with the length of the filenames, but because I had "Series 14 " in the filename, I gather it saw the first number 14 and figured this was the episode number. When it came to a second with "Series 14" it must have considered that a duplicate of the first and thus didn't add it. Changing instead to "S14" made the difference for me.
