CChris 59 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Currently, it is not possible to Group Audio Books into Collections. e.g.: Star Trek Voyager - Book 1 - Book 2 - Book 3 - .... The Next Generation - Book 1 - Book 2 - .... Since there are a lot of Audio-Books available, which belongs to series, it would be nice to have such a "collection" feature available - similar to the collections for movies. This could also be an interesting feature for the "books" Library... 4
CChris 59 Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 maybe, there should also be a discussion about the folder structure for such options...I just thought, that there are different options (for audiobooks, as well as for books):By Series / Collectionslike in my example above, where different books are part of a collection - but have different authors. The second option would be, folders by author:Michael Crichton - Sphere - Jurassic Park - ...H.G. Wells - The War of the Worlds - The Invisible Man - The Time Machine - ...I'm not sure, if the AudioBook / Book library does support such folder structures at all...
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Are you asking for a Collection tab when in your audiobook library? I can create Audiobook collections - although i have to do it manually And access them via the collections library

Althought, a Collection Tab, like it's already available for movies would be a nice feature
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 As with most media - go to the ... menu / or right click in web app and Add to collection should appear as one of the options
CChris 59 Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 Ah Okey.Yes, I already found this. But this would only list the books as a collection within the collection tab... right? I just thought, that it might also be an Idea to allow "grouping" within the libraries itself (this would also affect movie library)e.g.:Movies:Film_group_1 Film_1 Film_2 Film_3TV Shows:TV_Show_Group 1 TV_Show 1 Season 1 Season 2Audio Books:AudioBook_group 1 AudioBook 1 AudioBook 2I'm not sure, if emby already allows such kind of folder structure - and I know, this would be an issue with assigning Meta-Information to the group itself...
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Not sure i'm 100% understanding But if you go to into your Audiobook Library - "albums" tab then go to the ... menu next to "filter" - and turn on group items into collections Any Audiobook thats in a collection will then be grouped - so you have albums and Collections shown together - i.e. audiobooks you have manually added to a collection This works for other library types - so movies etc So i think this does what you are trying to explain The above is not dependant on folder structure There used to be a way of doing it by folders (for movies at least) but that got dropped in the last beta cycle it was too hard to support and error prone
CChris 59 Posted February 13, 2019 Author Posted February 13, 2019 Yes, sure. But - while you have a link to "collections" available in your movie library, you don't have such a link in your AudiBook Library. Also, if you go to "collections" from your main Page, then your AudiBook Collections will also be shown within all the movies. My Idea was something like this:1) Collections, User can create - with any kind of content (as already available with the "add to collection" feature)2) Movie Collections, as it's working right now with the AutoBoxSet plugin - only for MovieLibraries... (a user can add such a MovieBox Set to his private collection)3) Collections, like it is available for Movies within other Libraries (e.g. AudioBooks) - a User can also add such a Collection into his private collectionYou know, what I mean?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 The Collections Library displays all collections on the server, not restricted by parentid (ie libraries) There currently is no such thing as a User collection. Collections apply to all users. So there would need to be a complete revamp of the Collection system to have "System Collections" (ie Collections/Boxset) and "User Collections/Lists" private to each User. I'm not sure, if the AudioBook / Book library does support such folder structures at all Folders Tab does use your file system structure
