Dysan 2 Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 (edited) For the last 3 days, when casting to my chromecast from both my android phones (nexus 5x android 8.1 & nokia 8 android 9 (running emby beta)) i suddenly have movies pausing quite randomly. Not freezing, just if someone presses the pause button, pressing resume on the remote control or app resumes the playback. The behavior is very randomly, sometimes a half hour, sometimes seconds. transcode buffer is well filled and throttling around 2 minutes. (speed=1.58x) what can i provide more to solve this issue? *post title fix* Chromecast Edited February 12, 2019 by Dysan
Luke 42078 Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Hi, what do you mean by this: Not freezing, just if someone presses the pause button, pressing resume on the remote control or app resumes the playback. So they're manually pausing, or not? Thanks.
Dysan 2 Posted February 12, 2019 Author Posted February 12, 2019 (edited) the video is paused but no one is pressing any buttons Edited February 12, 2019 by Dysan
Luke 42078 Posted February 13, 2019 Posted February 13, 2019 Do the buttons in the android app show a paused state?
akawoz 13 Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Can confirm I'm seeing this frequently on my Chromecast Ultra. Playback enters a "paused" state on TV. A check of the app shows it in play mode but without the timer advancing. Pressing pause and play has no effect. Can break out of this situation by one press of skip forward in the notification controls. Check of the dashboard shows a healthy stream buffer in play state with no timer advancing. Paused state seems to occur around 25 - 30 minutes into the file. Will try to capture this behaviour with debug logs tomorrow and post them. 1
Dysan 2 Posted February 14, 2019 Author Posted February 14, 2019 Exactly the same as akawoz, but issue is i cannot point to a certain time/file type when this will occur. 1
Luke 42078 Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Please see how to report a media playback issue. thanks.
