Display duplicates the images. Is this normal?

ebr, you asked me to post my question here so I do. You see how the  pics on the folders duplicate the same image over and over for my movies and music in the screenshoot? Is that normal. or did I do something wrong ?  Forgive me, I'm used to Plex and it doesn't do that, so I just want to make sure everything is as it should be. Thanks for any help you can give a newbie to Emby.

There is a defect when setting up a new library that if you click OK multiple times, then you will get mulitple libraries created. To resolve this for your Movies library, remove the Movies library from Emby library setup. Then after that, try running two library scans and see if they all go away. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Luke, thanks. Unfortunately, it didn't work. Everything froze. So in a last ditch effort to resolve, I uninstalled emby and reinstalled it. Now, it seems nothing actually loads. It's so slow. I just watch multicolored circles spin all day. But I decided to leave it alone and let it do its thing. Whereas before I had multiple folders of the same thing. Now I feel like it is pulling every possible folder on my HP. UGH, OH WELL AS A PREMIERE NEWBIE, I guess I have a lifetime of this. Sorry for the caps, just noticed it. Thanks for your help though. I really appreciate it.

What do you see in the "\Emby-Server\programdata\root\default" folder?

Hi Happy 2 Play. Thanks for replying. In the root folder, I do see file folders for my music, home videos, photos and music. So, I gather this means it is only a matter of time and it will unload all of this? Thanks again for your assistance,

This is an old post but it was the first result that came up from Google when I was searching for why Emby would use the same image 4 times on the home screen.
To fix, click the 3 dots  to the bottom right of the images, click Refresh Metadata. Replace all metadata, put a check mark in Replace Images and hit Refresh.

Give it time to update the library.

 

I've also done this from the admin section, under Library and its worked here as well.

 

Hope this helps anyone else who comes across this post for the same reason.

Easier to just delete the current image and a Library scan to generate a new on.  Doing a Refresh replace all w/replace images would be quite labor intensive on a large library and hammer providers sites for no good reason.

As to why the same image 4 time, when the generate image happened that is all Emby current had a image for.
