Jump of images / blackscreen during the playback of the video at the end only

I get some troubles to playing a tv show episode since the version 4.0.X. I don't if it's a coincidence or not with the corruption of the file during the playback...

But in the following case of the episode that I linked to you to test it. Between 38 and 39min, you will get the problem (blackscreen in most cases, if you are lucky just some drops of pictures). With VLC or KODI, 0 problem.

I retry 3 times to download the episode again with different hosts but when I read it with emby server in (chrome) I get always at the same seconds, the same problem, it's really weird!

If you need some information, tell me.

 

 

ATTENTION: If you follow this tv show, maybe you should not look the 38 and 39min, because that's can be a spoil if you have some seasons in late

Thanks but really I don't understand what should I give you ...

I see the emby server section and the media playback issue. 

What is the good one ? BTW: I'm using a docker so where is the logs about ffmpeg by default for linux because your doc is for Windows when I see the path suggested ? 


EDIT: Ok I remember, it's available in the admin section in emby.... I fully forgot until now ... I will post it soon

 

 

EDIT2: There are so many files about ffmeg with different hashes, do you want remux, emby server or transcode files ?

There are my files. For information, this issue is now between 40 and 41min ... it's not the same timing than I mentioned before :/

I hope you will see something in the logs because it's a lot annoying when you want to see the end of the epsiode during the best moment

nop, most of them get the same issue during the 5% last of the episode :/

That's really weird, in the log, you didn't see that i get a blackscreen and it jump 7seconds of the episode in the case of the supernatural tv show  ?

I can do a video of the issue but it's useless for you I guess :/

And this is only in the browser? Do you use any other Emby apps?

Ah sorry I didn't see your new message, Personnaly, I use emby app in Kodi and I didn't have any problem with that, but every person who use in the browser (chrome) for 3 people, get sometimes this issue on random episodes

OK try with chrome, under windows (drop of pictures) or android (I get everytime on android à black screen) , with the file that I give you "Supernatural", between 39 and 41min.

 

I hope you will can reproduce this issue otherwise I don't know how to give you more information about it

Ah I have the transcode enabled, maybe should I try without to see if this can come from it?

I would suggest default settings.

Hi, I can't do that because I set for each users some languages, subtitles by default. And of course transcode when they didn't have enought speed internet :/

I can try it on my own user to test it but even on the phone I need the transcode option

Ok I got some news I hope this will help, I can reproduce easily the problem so I took many pictures, and for me something is weird with the transcode at the end. 

Look this:

When I start an episode, I got this and that's seems normal:
 

 

When the issue happens on my phone, I have the time which is frozen at 41:04 on my phone and on emby I see it restarts ? But keep blackscreen on my phone :/

 

 

(STEP 1): When it's frozen, the currently time becomes "--:--:--" 

 

 

(STEP2): Emby restarts the movie automataivatly after few seconds because I didn't touch anything, but I continue to get a freeze on the picture or blackscreen on my phone even if Emby Server says 0.12/41.36min 
And the streaming mode should not be here because I ask a lower resolution than native so it's buggued
  

 

WEIRD: It's seems when I close the end of the episode that Emby go into "Streaming Direct" instead of my "Transcode mode". In fact, it's starting in transcode mode then when I clicked on 40:00min, it goes in "Streamin mode". Is it normal ? 
                                 

 

 

I get this message when I click on Streaming Direct. I suggest it's normal.

So, sometimes, I suggest when I close of the end, it lefts "Transcode mode", but something wrong and bug ?

I'm running on the last container of Docker, but I don't think the issue come from it.

I'm running Docker on a Ubuntu 16.04 OS (64bits), with a Intel. 

The problems seems to be new and arrive in the same time that the Emby Server 4.0.X with the new system of throttle in % (just preload some % of the episode)

You can always test this theory by disabling the throttle feature in server transcoding setting.

Ok, in this moment, I can't reproduce this issue. Today, I updated the docker with the latest version available for emby Server. I try to see if during the next months I get again the problem and if it's not the case, you will be able to close this issue
