crusher11 1102 Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 The folders, images and xml files are still in appdata/emby/data/collections, but they don't show up in the web app. Had this happen yesterday, when I recreated it I suddenly had two of the collection in question. Deleted one, and they both disappeared. I've just had two more collections vanish, although one has somehow survived.
Luke 42083 Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Hi there, can you please go over an example? thanks.
crusher11 1102 Posted February 9, 2019 Author Posted February 9, 2019 I figured it out, but forgot to update the thread. I moved/renamed the films contained within them, so they became empty. The metadata all moved across, so I didn't think about the collection not linking to the right place anymore. Updated the file locations in the xml manually and fixed it. 1
Luke 42083 Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Thanks for the feedback. Yes @@cayars is working on a wiki article about that. Thanks.
Carlo 4561 Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 @@crusher11 The following wiki article should cover how to edit the collections manually in a case like this: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Collections-%E2%80%93-Manual-Migration
ScottRTL 6 Posted September 1, 2020 Posted September 1, 2020 I was able to resolve this issue by removing all folders (the specific collections) from the collections folder (in my case /config/data/collections), then scan the collections folder for changes, verify nothing was there, move all the folders back, then scan again, all collections, posters, theme music and movies are all there again. Before i did this, I changed the ownership and permissions, and that didn't resolve the issue. 1
Luke 42083 Posted September 2, 2020 Posted September 2, 2020 That's interesting, thanks for the feedback.

For me basically the issue was all the collecitons magically disappeared one day (Emby docker container on an Unraid server), I looked at the permissions and ownership, and made them all good, just in case (the same permissions and ownership as the playlists. after scan, there were still no visible collections... But moving them out, scanning, re-adding them, and scanning again, brought everything back as though they were never gone. Figured I would post my solution in case anyone in the future with the issue gets here via Google.
