Genre View on the home page?

I use emby solely for my movie collection and I was wondering if there was a way to make the home page to show movies by genre?

 

The only thing I can find is the setting to make the landing page for the movie library to default to genre.

 

What I would like to see when I click on the emby app in my nvidia shield is something like this:

 

Action-------------

 

Horror-------------

 

Comedy-----------

 

Musical-----------

 

Science Fiction-------------

 

 

The only thing I can come up with is to make separate libraries for each genre and view them that way. It works but I was hoping to let the server manage which genre the movie shows up in as they can cross genres, I might have a movie in an action folder that is also a comedy.

This is a pretty basic request so I don't see why it doesn't exist... you can make a folder called comedy then browse by folder and choose comedy genre that way but that's worthless, I'd like a genre search across all libraries..  been two years since this post was made

I would imagine in future updates with smart views and playlists you'd be able to design your own view based on filter criteria such as genres.

That would be fantastic.. right now it's a little unwieldy, I have things that I forgot I had because I watched it once and then it's lost unless I know what to search for or I go digging and happen to find it.. I create playlists, but to constantly do that for every  new thing is just unmanageable .. I'd love to have something that auto grouped by genre and anything that can't be identified, let me manually tag it.. that would be perfect..

Hi @Luke, How is the progress coming on this feature? Do you have any insights you can share to the community. 

This sounds like such a great feature, more like Netflix or Disney+ where the content is more discoverable
