LiveTV stops working

Using Windows 7 as my server (i7 with 12GB RAM) with a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD tuner.

 

I'm using Emby for Android or using Chrome to try to access LiveTV.

 

When I start LiveTV, it doesn't play. I would see a spinning loading circle and nothing happens.

 

I would usually need to restart the emby server and then LiveTV playback would work... however, if I change channels a few times, it would get stuck again and I'd see the loading circle.

 

While this is going on in Emby, I can access the TV feed on the server with Hauppauge's WinTV 8.5 application.

 

For the attached log, I tried starting the TV around 1:56pm and 1:57pm on my Android. (I forced closed the app, the first time).

 

I would appreciate any insight.

Is WinTV at default settings?

Yes. After I set up WinTV, it worked so I did not make any changes to the settings.

After you stop live tv in Emby, does WinTV show that a tuner is still being used?

No. When I stop live tv in Emby and use WinTV afterwards, WinTV works and it doesn't show that a tuner is still being used.

Hi, yes there is an issue with certain Hauppauge models that we are looking into. What is happening is that we are using the Hauppauge SDK, and for whatever reason, their API to close live streams is not actually closing it. But again only on certain models. We're looking into it, thanks.

Hi All - any updates on a solution? The same is happening for me, after tuning to 2 channels in the session the 3rd and subsequent channel tunes give the message error tuning to channel in Emby but I can still tune to a channel with WinTV. 

 

Application: WinTV 8.5 (as of 2/19/19 software update)

Tuner model: WinTV-HVR-955Q 

Emby server 4.0.3.0

Yes also seeing this. I had to revert back to beta to get around it. Disappointing that this made it to a stable release
