Benefits in adding nVidia Shield (have FireTV Cube)?

I have ethernet to Fire TV Cube & Emby.   I have noticed select movies in Blu-ray ripped to mkv (English Patient) free for several seconds every few minutes with the FIreTV and I have been trying to manage audio lag.  The Cube also seems 5.1 only.

 

Would the nVidia help wit video freeze and audio sync issues?

 

In another room I have my video (i7) server direct connected to A/V system w/HDMI w/o any issues.

 

I have Gigabit switches and the latest Frontier FIOS router but I have a hop from router to Fire Cube (router to switch to Fire).

The shield will have more horsepower which will allow it to more easily handle higher bitrate content, if that's what you have.
