Thank you for Emby Server 4

This is a completely pointless post but I really just want to thank the Emby team for the incredible work on v4 of the server. I've tried Emby several times in the past because I've wanted to support a very responsive development team focused on building the right stuff for its customers over what might be most immediately profitable, and always ended up bouncing back to Plex for various performance-related reasons (buffering issues, server becoming overwhelmed with fewer active sessions than Plex seemed to, etc.). Version 4 is if anything noticeably faster, more responsive, and actually easier to manage on the whole than Plex. I haven't read any other posts on here lately so for all I know I'm the only person pleased with v4 and others are having the same issues any major new version of software has, but regardless, a very sincere thanks to the dev team, this is a great release and my family and friends are loving it.

I wanted to echo the words of @@ginsengbomb.

I'm a new user to Emby and I recently took the time to add my music, audiobooks, a few movies and TV Shows to the server. I also have Live TV up and working.

The user interface is really pretty stellar. It's an enjoyable experience to use the program. It's intuitive and I can't remember anytime that I really struggled trying to figure out how to navigate.

In my opinion, it really achieves the integrated media server experience.

Tonight, I took the time to setup Emby to run as a service on my computer and it worked just as expected.

The devs are extremely responsive to everyone's posts.

Looking forward to really enjoying my Emby server!

I have on numerous occasions started a post just like this to not finish it for one reason or another...  Your original post is exactly the same situation i was in.  Wanting to bounce back to emby, but staying with plex for one reason or another!  Over the many years i felt like i was betraying my emby "family".  The development team, should i say this, goes above and beyond to help resolve issues.  You don't get that kind of response from many other developers.

 

My family rolled their eyes, with a not again sigh, when i alerted them i was going back to emby.  Everyone is extremely happy that i made the change (at the end of the day it wouldn't have mattered because i was very happy)! 

 

V4.0 is absolutely outstanding!  The server is quick and responsive (my library is,a well, lets just call it a sickness) and it handles it with ease (couldn't say that in the past).

A few minor features that need to make it into the roku app, but in time i know they will get there.

 

Thanks for starting this thread, but more importantly thanks to the emby crew (and the beta testers)!
