marauder 17 Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 I was looking to set a new surround sound system. Mine is getting a bit old and the fiance wants something with smaller speakers. I was looking into Dolby Atmos. I was wondering what people are running and their thoughts. I was looking for a more entry level setup and I was to stay under a $1000 for the system. Would want an upscaling system so I can utilize it more than just when I have an Atmos specific content.
Guest asrequested Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 You simply can't do it for $1000. Mine is somewhere around $3000. My suggestion would be to build. Start with the receiver, and upgrade the speakers, over time. Maybe look at the Pioneer Elite receivers? Now that Onkyo bought them, the prices are lower. You'll want to decide how many speakers and what configuration you want to end up with. You can look at this page to get an idea. This is the setup that I have.
