sargenthp 35 Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Hello, I was wondering if we could get an option where when you select a LiveTV channel that it would just go to the station instead of the info screen where you need to hit play. Biggest thing that drives my wife nuts. [emoji6] Thanks! Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk 1
Luke 42078 Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Yes this can be improved in the future. Thanks. 2
Solution ebr 16184 Posted January 28, 2019 Solution Posted January 28, 2019 Hi. You can do that by just hitting the "Play" button on your remote. 2
BillOatman 596 Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 I use the grid guide, takes you right to the channel.
sargenthp 35 Posted January 28, 2019 Author Posted January 28, 2019 Well... Look at that. The play button does what I was looking for! Thanks! Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk 2

Spaceboy 2573 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Doesn’t long press bring up a context menu?
ebr 16184 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Which button is the play button on a ShieldTV remote? Double-tap the volume slider. The Mi is the one without any way to do this. 1
Sammy 790 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Double-tap the volume slider. The Mi is the one without any way to do this. Good to know.. My Harmony Elite with hub does this. Still need to check out other ShieldTV's with FLIRC and 2015 model with built in IR. Sent from my SM-G960U1 using Tapatalk

ebr 16184 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 would it possible to directly tune to channel on short press of the OK button and long press brings up the info window? Too hard to discover IMO. The one thing we could potentially do here is tune to the channel if the program selected is currently airing. However, I'm not wild about the inconsistency there because that may not be obvious either and, everywhere else in the interface, select brings up a detail screen and play directly plays the item. So the current design is completely consistent throughout the app with all content types. 1

y3knik 17 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 no. Do not want Agreed.. me either! How about making the channel on the grid selectable? If you have the channel highlighted, then you tune to it. If you have the show highlighted, then you get its detail.
Sammy 790 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 IIR, WMC plays LiveTV directly when selecting from the grid guide but for library items it goes to the info screen. For me, LiveTV is a different animal and I want it to tune as quickly as possible. Already it's 5 to 7 seconds to tune. I am glad to know the Play button trick now though. arrbee99 1815 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Don't know if its particularly relevant here, but it would (probably) be nice to have one of those guides where the guide expands to show the extra info / options when over an item instead of opening a separate window. 1
