Problems since server update 4.0.1

Problems after server updates seems to be a common thing these days!

 

1: Game browser no longer works. My windows games show up but the play button & other buttons are now missing.

 

2: My films now no longer display correctly. Each film is in its own folder & in emby WMC each film would show up with coverart applied correctly. Since 4.0.1 the film cover shows up with no coverart applied. If I select a film I am shown a film bacjground image with the dvd/blueray cover in the center of the screen with coverart applied. If I then select that I see the usual play options. So for some rreason update 4.0.1 has added in an extra step for some reason & that has thrown coverart off!

 

Anyone have any suggestions?

Try removing the games from the server, run a full scan, then add them back. Then in the client apps, remove the external player setups, and then add them back. Thanks.

 

For #2 - is that on the default theme of EMC? Please try the EMC beta as it has compatibility updates for the 4.0 server. Thanks.

i had the same problem,disable legacy browsing in emby client. folders should be fine once you click into it once to watch the movie.

No I'm not using the deafult theme. I'm using Neo.

Turning off legacy browsing sorted the films out. No joy with the games though. I removed the games from the library,  ran a scan & then added them again. Then went into the client app & removed all settings & then reset them & ran another library scan. No joy still. Any ideas?

Games on EMC is not a feature that has been used or tested much recently so I'm not sure if it will impact that but, if you are on the 4.0 server, you really need to be on the latest beta version of EMC.

 

Please try installing that.

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm not sure about updating to a beta version. That may be opening another can of worms. I don't know how stable emc beta versions are but everything is back to the ay it was bar the games. Is there much variation in the beta to the stable? its not a completely different interface is it?

No.  The beta of EMC at this point just has fixes for some people on server 4.x.

 

The only reason it hasn't been promoted to release is to avoid possible disruption for people who have not updated their server.
