Is the .avi playback with Emby still a issue, I have tried playing some .avi files today without success, I am running Emby server 4.0.1.0 on the Nvidia Shield? Please don't say that I have to re-mux my files to .mkv as that will be a lot of work and would not be an option.

What exactly is your problem?

Posted

Well, the .avi files won't play, they just start, I hear the sound starting then goes all black.

Is the server running on an Android box?

That ffmpeg log looks different...

Yes, the server is running on the Nvidia shield.

As a test if you turn off hardware transcoding, does that have any impact?

Posted

Turning off transcoding does make the .avi files play, is there a setting where only transcoding is turned off for .avi files only?

Hi.  What, exactly, did you turn off?

In the server under transcoding:

Enable hardware acceleration when available:

no

Okay, thanks.  That's turning off HWA (which is what Luke requested).  Not turning off transcoding altogether.

Thanks, should this be kept to off then?

Yes if you have a lot of avi content and until we can figure out a way to work around the problem.

No, we're just asking you to try it so that we can collect information. Thanks.
