GhostRider 49 Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 (edited) Before I take the plunge and migrate to version 4 of Emby can anybody advise on the following please: 1) Will my custom Actors settings (pictures and info files created outside of Emby and added into the folders manually) be copied across or is Emby going to create from scratch using the inbuilt actor metadata crawler? 2) How long will the initial scan take for approx 900 movies and 50 TV series? Many thanks Edited January 26, 2019 by GhostRider 1
Happy2Play 9782 Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 1. A upgrade/migration from previous version to new version will use existing database entries, but a new install will currently not use existing \people folder. 2. Everyone's setup is different my stable server took about 9 hours for 6000 movies and 728 series with all metadata and images save with media. 1
GhostRider 49 Posted January 26, 2019 Author Posted January 26, 2019 Thanks @@Happy2Play for the info. Looks like I will need to schedule a time to do the upgrade maybe just under an hour for me would be a reasonable estimate.

Many thanks I found it necessary to manually upload from my People file some of the people I had added to it, mostly in my Music Videos or self created videos. YMMV, as I had a mix of NFO and XML metadata.
