Hi folks,

I just did the test and when I replace the "é" by "e", it works. So, here is an example:

"Unité 9_IRCHD_2019_01_22_19_58_00.wtv" (came from WMC recording). When I do a refresh on recording directory in Emby, it doesn't catch the episode. But when I replace the "é" by "e", then, refresh the recording directory, It found it.

Thanks

That log actually looks like from when it did work.

This may be something related to the Linux install but also update to 4.0.1 if available.

Thanks.

Yes, I just did the update and it didn`t detect my recording with "é".

I must explain a little bit further my setup. I have my freenas server with emby. To get my recording, I mapped a network path in my iocage on my HTPC (All my recording are on my HTPC with WMC)

So, emby read through network. For info, when I go in iocage console and type LS command in my mapped directory, it list the "unreaded" tv show using a "?" instead of "é":

Like that:    Unit? 9 .......

Thanks

Hi Luke,

Here is a screenshot. As you can see, I have change 7 episodes name that I modified them to remove the "é". I can see them in my directory. But in fact, I have about 200 episodes that are missing and they all have the "é".

THanks

Can you show us what the folder structure looks like? thanks !

HI Luke, I'm not sure what kind on screenshot you want but...

My file structure is really simple. I have a network mapped directory in /media/RecordedTV/ (in Emby iocage)

Under this directory, I have all my episodes in the same directory (which in fact they are on my remote HTPC using network)

Thanks

Here is a screenshot in my bitvise console. As you can see, the first 7 episode don't have the "é" because I manually renamed them and those now appear in emby.

Thanks

Based on how it is displaying there, it doesn't look like your OS supports that character.  I think if you can get the OS showing the file name properly, Emby will work too.

Thanks EBR,

I'm currently running FREENAS. Is there a way to do that?

That's from within your jail and looks good, check in a freeNAS shell. While you are in a shell, could you please navigate to the folder in question and print the printout of

ls -la

and make sure its all proper. Back to @@Luke question FreeNAS has no problem with characters such as these.

Hi Makarai,

Here is what I got using locale command in my Freenas

root@freenas[...cage/jails/emby/root/media/RecordedTv]# locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
root@freenas[...cage/jails/emby/root/media/RecordedTv]#

And now, I attached a screenshot of when I do a ls -la.... same result here. the "é" is not displayed correctly

Hi EBR,

I was not able to find the the actor I added in the cast & crew list. But, if it can help, I found an already existing person with a special character "Sébastien Inizan" in the cast and crew and I was able to add picture to it.

EDIT:  Sorry, I think I did mistake by not clicking on savong button.

Finally, yes, I can see my new actor with special character and also I can add a photo to it.
