Happy2Play 9780 Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 I tried this with 50 other entries that had the same problem. Adding them to a new library caused them to appear properly immediately however bringing them back into their original library causes a similar issue again. The only difference is now there seems to be Seasons showing but no episodes. So there is/are rogue database entries in your database that are not being cleared properly since only the original import location has the issue,
mechguy 12 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 (edited) @@Happy2Play Is there a way to rebuild the database without losing played status for my users or having to move my media to a new folder and creating a new library as above. I already have the metadata stored along side the files so they should be safe, although i do notice library scans are still quite slow despite having all the images and nfo files stored with the media, I assume it is the number of links being created in the db to each of these files. Well if you know your way around the database you could remove the library, and take a look a copy of the database and manually remove anything still referencing that library. Or if you are Premiere user, use the Server Configuration Backup plugin and backup and restore on a new installation.
Luke 42078 Posted March 3, 2020 Posted March 3, 2020 @@mechguy has this helped? Are you still having an issue?
ezzah 3 Posted March 12, 2020 Posted March 12, 2020 I ran into this problem recently but resolved it by scanning library files again. Not sure if my issue was as serious or of the same cause as OP.
pier23mc 2 Posted March 15, 2025 Posted March 15, 2025 Hi there, I have (maybe) the same problem but as far as I could find out, it only happens with one tv-show: "Lost". All of the episodes shows up, but not organized into the related season. All of my other tv-show shows up correctly, organized in seasons (i.e.): I use the suggested file-/directory scheme: showname (release-year)\season #01\showname -01E01- episodename and it works well for all my other shows. Only "Lost" seems to wrong. I'm able to watch the show but it's not organized into seasons. I tried to remove the show and re-add it afterwards - re-scan, but without success. I did the same again but with vacuumize the DB and restarting Emby, but also without success. As it only seem to affect this show and the show itself works, I didn't play with the DB (I'm a premiere user and do backups on a regular basis. I know, this thread is not pretty actual, but I found the name of the thread matches exactly my problem. Thank you for this cool piece of software and greetings.

Also, what do you have for File Order under Edit Metadata dialog? As to me that appears as Absolute (i.e. single season) order, as there's no season selection dropdown in flattened list or it has been recognized as such due to naming convention used. js28194 36 Posted March 15, 2025 Posted March 15, 2025 This happened to me also after a Server upgrade, it's under app settings now, per user. Set to always show season folder. 1
pier23mc 2 Posted March 15, 2025 Posted March 15, 2025 (edited) Thanks to your suggests, that did the trick and now it looks correct: it was set to "all episodes per show in a single season" - I changed it now into "Always show seasons folder" What I still don't understand is, why did this only apply to this and only this TV-show? All of the other shows where showing up seasons correctly. @GrimReaper: Main folder: Lost (2004) ├── Season #01 │ ├── Lost -S01E01- Gestrandet (1).mkv │ ├── Lost -S01E01- Gestrandet (1).nfo │ ├── ... ├── Season #02 │ ├── Lost -S02E01- Glaube und Wissenschaft.mkv │ ├── Lost -S02E01- Glaube und Wissenschaft.nfo │ ├── ... ├── Season #03 │ ├── Lost -S03E01- Die zwei Städte.mkv │ ├── Lost -S03E01- Die zwei Städte.nfo │ ├── ... ├── Season #04 │ ├── Lost -S04E01- Der Anfang vom Ende.mkv │ ├── Lost -S04E01- Der Anfang vom Ende.nfo │ ├── ... ├── Season #05 │ ├── Lost -S05E01- Weil du gegangen bist.mkv │ ├── Lost -S05E01- Weil du gegangen bist.nfo │ ├── ... ├── Season #06 │ ├── Lost -S06E01- Los Angeles (1).mkv │ ├── Lost -S06E01- Los Angeles (1).nfo │ ├── ... ├── Specials │ ├── Lost -S00E17- The watch.avi │ ├── Lost -S00E17- The watch.nfo │ ├── ...
