can someone please help  .. 2 questions  (1)  can you access your home media movies and photos from a remote location- ie work?  (2)  one of the options when you play a video is DELETE.. if you click that , is it permanently deleted from the server..thx u

more specifically, the delete deletes the media completely.

..but you can of course permission that depending on the user - so an Admin CAN delete, a User cannot - just play/view.

thank you guys.. very much appreciated.. that is helpful re user..vs admin..    last question- if i cant access from work, does that mean maybe my EMBY not open on my computer at home?  or is there anything in particular i need to do at the IMAC/server to make sure i can access from remote?  thx u again..

for external access you need to open the port that emby uses on your router and forward it to your emby server.

you would also need to check the local firewall on your emby server to ensure that incoming connections from the internet are not blocked.
