Issues with Playlists after upgrading

I have 2 playlist related issues.

1. I have a playlist called FunkTest that I created as a test but cannot delete. When I choose the context menu for the playlist, delete is not there (for this playlist only) . If I click and hold the playlist, it goes into multi-select mode. I can choose delete from the context menu but after confirming that I want to delete the playlist, nothing happens. No error message but the playlist is still there.

I checked the server logs and searched for the playlist name but found no mention of it at all.

I have 24 playlist files store as m3u8 in a sub folder of my music directory called playlists. Each playlist file is saved as m3u8. For some reason, 2 other playlists are stored as xml in %appdata%\Roaming\Emby-Server\programdata\data\playlists. (On a side note, is it possible to convert these to m3u8 so I can have all of my playlists stored in the same format ?). The m3u8 for FunkTest is in the first folder that I mentioned and I can manually delete or move the playlist m3u8 to a different location but it still shows up in Emby. I just did a test by deleting tracks from this playlist but the playlist file FunkTest.m3u8 did not change which leads me to believe that this playlist file is not the same one being referred to by Emby.

I  searched the file system in case there was another m3u8 or xml playlist filefor this playlist and didn't found any.

2. Before the upgrade to 4.0, on the main screen where I see my libraries, the playlist icon showed a thumbnail made of all of the songs in all of my playlist. After I upgraded it changed to a lime green image with 3 white rectangles going horizontally in the middle which is kinda ugly to look at. I've replaced it for now with a nicer static image but is there a way or a scheduled task to generate a thumbnail for the playlists again instead of having to resort to a static image ?

Update: I initiated a scan and now the playlist FunkTest no longer shows up. I'd still like to know about converting xml to m3u8 though if anyone knows how to do this.

Hi there, for #1, can you please attach the emby server log? Yes, you could convert xml to m3u8.

As I said in my previous post, the playlist FunkTest is not showing up in my playlists any more. This is resolved.

How can you convert XML to m3u8 ? I've searched online and haven't found anything that actually works.

I started developing my own tool that uses the Emby API to export playlists as m3u. I need this because if I export the 2 playlists in XML as m3u, I should be able to delete the XML playlist and replace it with the same playlist in m3u format.

We don't have any tools to help you convert, I am simply saying that we support m3u8 playlists, therefore you could recreate them in that format if you wanted to.
