rpoitras 1 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Hi All, This is not a new issue as of server 4.x as I have noticed it before, but when I click on Live TV followed by the Recordings link I always see my actual recordings from the DVR as well as shows from my TV Shows library and I'm trying to figure out why. It appears that Emby will show content in the "Recordings -> Latest Recordings" section from any library that references the DVR recorded path(s). For example, I have the following folders: /media/Emby_Series /media/Emby_Movies /media/TV_Shows /media/Movies In the DVR settings I have the default recording path set to "/media/Emby_Series", default series path set to the same "/media/Emby_Series", and default movie path to "/media/Emby_Movies". I have a "TV Shows" library that points to "/media/TV_Shows" as well as "/media/Emby_Series". I also have a "Movies" library that points to "/media/Movies" and "/media/Emby_Movies". By doing so, whenever I click on Live TV -> Recordings to see the latest recordings it will pull titles from "/media/TV_Shows" and "/media/Movies", which is obviously incorrect as they are, in fact, not recordings at all and have nothing to do with the DVR. Removing the Emby recording paths from those libraries fixes the issue and will only show content from the specified recording directories. So again, it seems that Emby includes any and all content from any library where the DVR recording paths are referenced instead of just pulling content from the specified paths themselves. Am I going crazy?
Luke 42098 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Hi, yes this is normal. Once the recordings are saved they're just regular items in your library like any other video.
rpoitras 1 Posted January 22, 2019 Author Posted January 22, 2019 It's not a huge issue for me or anything, but is there a way to stop non-DVR related items from showing up under Recordings? Like, can I remove all non-DVR paths from Recordings (is it treated internally like a regular library)? Actually, from what you said above that's exactly what I'd expect to happen - only DVR-related paths specified in the DVR settings should show in Recordings and let me decide what libraries the recorded content should show up in. As of now, if I only want recorded content to show under "Recordings" I simply can't add those paths to any other library. Is that the intent?

Having them in separate locations allows you to use other tools easily such as MCEBuddy to Comskip commercials and to convert to MP4 or MKV with H.264 video, then move those recordings after processing into the normal movie and tv show libs.

But... they are in different locations already as shown in my first post. (?) I keep recordings in separate folders away from my main "TV Shows" and "Movies" folders because not only do I like to keep things separated, but I also only allow write permissions to emby for the recording folders. But at the same time I'd like my TV recordings to show up in my "TV Shows" library along with my ripped content but that's where the problem comes in. If I add the TV series recording folder to my "TV Shows" library, then ALL content in that library will show up under Latest Recordings, which is incorrect as the shows I've backed up from disc 10 years ago was obviously not recorded by the Emby DVR.
Carlo 4561 Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 A folder can only be a member of ONE LIBRARY. If it's added to multiple libraries you will get goofy results like you are seeing.
