themajm 0 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 (edited) Hi @@Luke I changed a lot of file names today and also the nfo, always the same as the file name of course. But now the problem, after a library scan, after a metadata refresh, after a metadata "replacement", emby still shows the old name of the file(s) in the emby app dashboard! So I go to edit metadata and there I see "title" and there is the old ugly file-name. How can I solve this that emby shows the NEW file name? I can't edit every episode manually. Greetings! themajm 0 Posted January 22, 2019 Author Posted January 22, 2019 Hi again I tested and deleted one .nfo completely. I did a scan and metadata refresh. So emby did replace it. But still its the old file name in the emby dashboard! Idk how to fix this :/ Latest emby version btw.
Luke 42083 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Can you please go over an example? thanks.
themajm 0 Posted January 22, 2019 Author Posted January 22, 2019 Can you please go over an example? thanks. @@Luke Sure what you need? For example: Path\Series\Game of Thrones\Season1\"Files here" Yesterday for example the name of the files were: GoT.EP1-cming.mkv GoT.EP1-cming.nfo Today I changed into: Game of Thrones - E01 - Winter is Coming.mkv Game of Thrones - E01 - Winter is Coming.nfo and so on.... I did a library scan as mentioned.. doesn't help. I deleted the .nfo, and retrieved it again from emby. And the Title in the Emby Dashboard still doesn't change to the new one: ...Winter is Coming (or what ever makes sense). Its still: GoT.EP1-cming. So I went into metadata-manager. And the fun story is I can only expand to "Path\Series\Game of Thrones\Season1" I can't see the episodes, they are just not listed in the manager. (This works with movies btw. and also with other series).
Luke 42083 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Ok given your old file name i'm guessing emby did not know the season and episode number of the file, this info has changed with the new file names, therefore the watch data will be different now.
Luke 42083 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 I deleted the .nfo, and retrieved it again from emby. And the Title in the Emby Dashboard still doesn't change to the new one Try refreshing the metadata and selecting replace all metadata. just deleting nfo files is not enough.
themajm 0 Posted January 23, 2019 Author Posted January 23, 2019 (edited) @@Luke Hi, it drives me crazy I refreshed the library, I replaced all metadata (no delete tho). And now I have the problem that old name's (titles) are still shown at the top of the season dashboard. example: Game of Thrones -> First Episode: GoT.EP1-cming.mkv - then I have to scroll aaaallll the way down and there it is correctly shown as: Game of Thrones - E01 - Winter is Coming.mkv. How do I get rid off those wrongly indexed titles or what ever it is? :-) peace! Edit: Okay I have something new. I figured out that if the title and name of the file/episode is in german it does recognize it as a correct name and episode. The others are in english and they are not correct like GoT.EP1-cming.mkv I'm not sure where the problem is coming from now. Also One Piece is not recognized in english. Does it mean I have to enable english somehow? (I have two languages in my library, depends on the series.. I want both to be correct) Or is the problem that the series is an Anime? But its kinda fun that One Piece get a few name files in german recognized but english doesn't. English is far more populated. My metadata stuff is set to TheTVDB and TheMovieDB so it should be recognized or? -> Next step I test the Anime plugin maybe it helps emby to recognize the correct things No, Anime plugin doesn't help. themajm 0 Posted January 24, 2019 Author Posted January 24, 2019 @@Luke you have to address the link on your own since the integration doesn't work.
Luke 42083 Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 What version of Emby Server, can you refresh the metadata on the series, then attach the emby server log? thanks.
Luke 42083 Posted January 24, 2019 Posted January 24, 2019 I think your problem is the file names. They are not following our supported TV Naming Guidelines: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/TV-naming Try using the metadata editor for each episode, and make sure each episode has a season number and episode number. Then refresh the metadata.
