Full picture freeze

Morning all.

I've been using a dell inspiron as a htpc in the living room, lately playback as been freezing with a kind of jaring noise in fulls reen, not just with emby but also with YouTube and Netflix aswell. Also crashes the computer.

 

I am using the on board graphics. I think that the on board graphics/hdmi are the problem.

 

Any insights would be welcome

That's the first thing I checked luke, uninstalled and reinstalled them, the problem remained . Its a old Windows 7 machine, so it's passed its prime now, could barrow a graphics card and see if that would solve it.

 

Or it be a Windows 10 curse/problem lol

Yea i would consider testing a graphics card.

Agree its looks like a hardware issue, tried a graphics card and it crashed the desktop. The fans are spinning and the ssd seems to be OK (will test in another pc). Its also being a pig to turn on now.

 

Just swopped sata port, so I see if that's the problem.
