Hi guys
I have a few more questions about Premiere.....!

I have Emby running on two NAS drives; a Qnap that has my TV shows, movies and kids stuff, and a Synology that has my movie archive. I also have a HDhomerun. How is it best to set up HDHomerun with Emby? Can it be set up so I can access the TV guide, make recordings and watch them on both devices, and have the recordings in the one central point (or does HDHomerun have one central point for recordings - I've only used it on its own and with Kodi so far!)

Also, on local user vs Emby Connect user, I rarely access my media from away from home, so when logged in locally with Connect does that stream directly on the LAN, or does it go via any Emby servers? 

With Connect users I presume it means one user can be linked to both servers, whereas local users need to be set up on both servers and are individual (a bit like Windows local users vs domain accounts)?

Hi.  I moved this because none of these questions are actually dependent on Premiere.

 

What do you mean by "Emby running on two NAS drives"?  You have two Emby Servers?  A single server could point to anywhere on your network and you can access that server from pretty much anywhere.

 

If you are logged in locally, there is really no reason to use Connect but, yes, it will still connect locally if it can.

Yes, I have two Emby servers, one on each NAS. I've tried pointing the Emby on my QNAP to the Synology one but the QNap doesn't do symbolic links very well so it's not easy to point it to that, so it's easier for me to have Emby running on both.

Nothing goes through our servers except for the initial Emby Connect sign in process. After that it's direct from user device to your server.
