Bazzu85 22 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 (edited) So today I had a strange (and beautiful) behavior watching a episode on android when at work.. when at home I see the watch status from what I half watched on android (downloaded media) is synced with emby server.. Now I tried to watch another episode to about 1/4 length but nothing is synced with the server.. For your information I checked if for some reason I played the episode directly from the server, but in activity I can't find the "Bazzu is playing xxxxxx" so.. - is this a new feature? - if yes, there's a sort of time to wait to see the watch status on server? is this configurable? thx Edited January 21, 2019 by Bazzu85
Solution Luke 42079 Posted January 22, 2019 Solution Posted January 22, 2019 Hi, yes watch data for downloaded content will be uploaded to the server the next time the app syncs data. We register a background process with the android OS and request it to run every 15 minutes. In reality it may not end up running that frequently but it will still ultimately be synced. I think this is something we can improve in the future where we could report in real-time when there is an active connection to the server. 1
neik 873 Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 This works quite fine on my end with Android mobile and Android TV (FireTV Stick). It goes even further, if I watch something on my FTVS that I have synced before to my mobile it will get deleted on my mobile once it syncs with the server and gets the feedback that I have already watched it. Pretty sweet behavior actually.

Bazzu85 22 Posted January 22, 2019 Author Posted January 22, 2019 and what about the sync on the other side? if I watch half episode from server actually I see that synced content is not updated..
Bazzu85 22 Posted January 23, 2019 Author Posted January 23, 2019 That's something we need to improve, yes. good thx!
Bazzu85 22 Posted July 5, 2019 Author Posted July 5, 2019 (edited) @@Luke in the last days I'm seeing some problems in the status update feature.. watching some content on device the server hangs/don't update the episode status .. are you modifying the update task? how can I see if and when the sync task run? edit: I unininstalled the beta e installed the stable of android app , re synced the content, updated the progression of an episode to 75%, after a while the server is updated..so is a problem of the latest betaon android..
