ffjk 0 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Hi, I really want to switch from plex to emby, but i currently have the following issue: Whenever a file is not on the CloudDrive's local cache & is streamed from the cloud Emby won't play it. (just shows loading circle) I've noticed that it works fine when trandscoding. any idea?
Luke 42080 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Hi there, can you please attach the emby server log? you can learn how to do that here: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks !

Luke 42080 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Hmm, that's quite strange because everything looks normal here. can you provide a copy of the media info from this file from the bottom of the web app detail screen? Thanks !

Carlo 4561 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Turn on Drive Tracing in Cloud Drive, reboot and try again via Emby. https://stablebit.com/Support/CloudDrive/Manual?Section=Troubleshooting Then take a look at that log file and see if the file is being transferred. Basically you should be able to see the status of the transfer taking place. This will help narrow down where the problem is.
ffjk 0 Posted January 21, 2019 Author Posted January 21, 2019 So you can't direct play any file at all? Just tried using the android tv app, seems to work fine there. Using the web client it rarely works

What i've noticed when it doesn't work it starts download/prefetching for sec & then just stops.

ffjk 0 Posted January 22, 2019 Author Posted January 22, 2019 Will do. What i've noticed when it doesn't work it starts download/prefetching for sec & then just stops. I just left the loading emby webclient alone for a few mins and it started playing the file & clouddrive started preteching agian. It starts playing instantly when transcoding video or audio. Also i do not have these issues with plex.

ffjk 0 Posted January 23, 2019 Author Posted January 23, 2019 And it never plays? It does after a few minutes
Luke 42080 Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 To be that sounds like the data is being altered in some way on the fly that is damaging the video file.
ffjk 0 Posted January 23, 2019 Author Posted January 23, 2019 Hmm.. I don't know its just weird that it works when transcoding. Plays fine with plex.
Carlo 4561 Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Web type of file is it? Is it web optimized? Don't worry if you don't know what that means.
