gledanje_filmova 2 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Hi, I'm running Emby as a service on Windows 10 Pro. After the update, I can't play any of the video files in my libraries in my Emby apps (web, Android TV, Android Mobile). I can play the same files from VLC if I access them from the same Windows machine (same user as the one running the emby server). I've checked the permissions on my NAS on the \\192.168.8.38 address and read/write permission works (as confirmed by playing the files directly from Windows in the video player) I've reset both my Windows server several times to no avail. I see the error "file:\\192.168.86.38\video\Short cartoons Serbian\Atomski mrav\01 - Atomski mrav napred.avi: Invalid argument" in the transcoding logs, but I don't understand where it comes from since I can play the same file through Windows Explorer Any suggestions? Logs are attached. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-2bbab32c-c59e-4e6f-821c-50dbda309f22_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-7a87ad7c-1c3f-4c58-b8f7-f37e6d2f2ff4_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-8f4f0d0d-a087-4b94-a8c7-58b10e0553e6_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-93e32202-947a-4ffd-8b17-39bb185fb4c8_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-7429a26d-208a-485f-886e-91ec6a9ee435_1.txt
ebr 16185 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Hi. This does look like a permissions issue. When running as a service, you have to be sure you configure the service manager with proper user credentials. System.IO.IOException: System.IO.IOException: The user name or password is incorrect : '\\192.168.86.38\video\Short cartoons Serbian'
Solution gledanje_filmova 2 Posted January 21, 2019 Author Solution Posted January 21, 2019 Thanks. Used NSSM to remove the existing service and create a new one with manually inputting Windows username and passwords. All good now.
gledanje_filmova 2 Posted January 21, 2019 Author Posted January 21, 2019 Actually, just realised that it would be useful to add the part on manually inputting the username and password (especially if somebody is using an outlook.com address to log into Windows) to the guide on using Emby as a service (https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Running-Emby-Server-as-a-Windows-Service).

Thanks for the feedback, we'll do that !
