LETHAL-DANgER 2 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Quote whatever solution it is you’re referring too and it would be greatly appreciated.
LETHAL-DANgER 2 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Where is this solution? You took the time to respond twice referring to the solution in this topic. Would it not be easier to simply quote the solution? Sorry, but other than someone suggesting to scan libraries I see no solutions. And scanning libraries did not fix the problem. I’ve had to delete and rebuild my collections several times now due to this bug. You shouldn’t needs logs or anything to reproduce the problem. Have you read all the posts above? I think the problem has been described by other users pretty well.

I think the problem has been described by other users pretty well. How would I reproduce this issue? One post appear to link it to the Auto Boxset plugin, but I haven't seen or been able to reproduce this, This is a topic from January that covers multiple server version so not everyone's issues will be the same even though the result many be the same. Do all the duplicated have the same path? But overall it sound like duplication directly in the database if there is only one collection in the "\programdata\data\collections" folder. If this is a database issue then in the end, one will probably have to rebuild the library.db.
LETHAL-DANgER 2 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Well I’ve only been using Emby for about three months and every single time I make a collection it gets duplicated. And all the duplications have the same path
LETHAL-DANgER 2 Posted September 15, 2019 Posted September 15, 2019 I pasted my collection folder back and ran a scan and they reappeared, so that’s good. But now when I add a new channel to an existing collection it says added but does not appear. It does appear in the metadata manager though. Also if I add it to a new collection it will appear and it creates the collection boxset folder but it does not create a collections.xml file. Any idea what could be going wrong?
rexerm 36 Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 (edited) Same thing just happened to me. Windows Portable, 4.5.4.0, brand new install. I did two things just before I noticed this had happened 1) deleted a playlist image, then refreshed metadata on (only) it so that the image would re-create it. 2) added a new second Movie library called "Shorts" and did a scan. When I went to add these shorts to Collections, I noticed the duplication (and triplication). Seems to be random which Collections got duplicated. One had only one TV show in it and was turned into three Collections. Others were left alone. Most of the duplicates were Collections I created prior to a few days ago, but not all. The duplicates are identical in content and primary image, but the background image is different. The first will have my custom image, and the duplicates will either have no image at all (if not identified) or the emby-default image (if identified). Looks like this has been a random, on going thing with no fix? I can copy the \programdata\data\collections\ folders, delete the duplicates, copy back, and re-scan... but that's no fun. EDIT: if I manually delete the collection folder under programdata and re-scan, the duplicate remains. The duplicate that remains has the non-custom background. EDIT 2: I tested both potential causes: 1) deleted a playlist image and refreshed metadata and 2) created a new Movie library. Neither duplicated the Collections. Hmm. Edited March 4, 2021 by rexerm
Luke 42078 Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Hi, for now you will just need to delete the duplicates manually. With the upcoming 4.6 release this shouldn't happen anymore. Thanks.
rexerm 36 Posted March 4, 2021 Posted March 4, 2021 Awesome! Sounds like 4.6 is jam-packed with improvements. Looking forward to it. 1
