Oracle 85 Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 Currently in the process of reconfiguring all of my collections, as I fell behind, and everything got disorganized. What is causing Emby to do this? https://gyazo.com/dc2604f29e352dc6182c22de5ff9528c
Oracle 85 Posted January 20, 2019 Author Posted January 20, 2019 What do you mean by re-configuring? Adding, Removing, Etc to them. I deleted the previous collections I had, so I'm just rebuilding them.
Oracle 85 Posted January 20, 2019 Author Posted January 20, 2019 Just through Emby, right click delete.
guytpetj 2 Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 (edited) I have the same problem. Since the Emby 4 upgrade my collections show everything double. I removed the collections in library management (remove database) and after rebuild everything shows double again. Edited January 20, 2019 by guytpetj
Happy2Play 9780 Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 (edited) I assume you see double in Metadata Manager, are the paths for both the same? Or edit metadata on both items. Edited January 20, 2019 by Happy2Play
guytpetj 2 Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 I see single in metadata manager, but everything double in the web interface and in firetv
J e f f 3 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 I have the same issue. When I removed the auto box set plug-in they return to single item.
vonstorch 0 Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Seeing the same issue here. Deleted all collections, then rebuild and after a scan, most, not all get duplicated in both the Collections and the Meta Data Manager. There are different dates for when added 1/5/2019 and 1/27/2019. All collections got locked also. Not sure what significance this makes. I've removed the collections in question, rescanned movie library, no new collection, however still have duplicate entry in the Meta Data Manager with nothing in the secondary collection. Can I delete that item from Meta Data Manager without deleting the collection or media? Any thoughts? Version 4.0.1.0 on Windows 10.
Carlo 4561 Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Have you guys ran a Scan All Libraries? I saw this before on someone's computer I was teamviewed in helping. After the Scan All Libraries the duplicates were removed? Worth a shot if you haven't tried this.
vonstorch 0 Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 After a full "Scan All Libraries", all items in collections duplicated. Should i remove them and the .xml files under the data directory as well?
Luke 42078 Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 What if you try deleting one, do both go away?
vonstorch 0 Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Yes, both are deleted. Then if I recreate the collection all is well.
Luke 42078 Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Ok thanks for the info. Something odd must have happened during the upgrade from 3.5 to 4.0. We are looking into this, but you may need to manually fix up your current ones. thanks.
osak00006 12 Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 (edited) Ok thanks for the info. Something odd must have happened during the upgrade from 3.5 to 4.0. Just noticed I have a bunch of duplicate collections, as well. What is the recommended process for deduping? Do I just delete the duplicates, manually? Is there a way to merge them? If I delete the duplicates, do I need to add movies back to the collection again? Edited May 24, 2019 by osak00006
boxtor 3 Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 I encountered this today on the current Windows portable version. It's a clean install and was not an upgrade to version 4.0. The way I triggered it (I think) was to do a full library scan and replace of existing metadata. After I did that all my collections were gone. I started to manually add them back and then they were duplicated. They were also duplicated in the metadata manager. If I deleted one of them in the metadata manager, the other remained in the metadata manager, but it was not visible in the collections library view. I deleted every collection and am going to start adding them all over again.
LETHAL-DANgER 2 Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 This is very time consuming to redo due to collections being duplicated. If I have saved the boxset folders from the collections folder, cannot just copy them back and do something so they re-appear? Currently they do not re-appear when I copy all the folders back into collections.
LETHAL-DANgER 2 Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 I can, but it then deletes all copies.
Luke 42078 Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Have you read through this thread? I would just do what the solution here was.
LETHAL-DANgER 2 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 (edited) What solution is this? To scan libraries? I click the button and nothing happens. I then click the dots under my collections folder and click scan library in there and it says refresh queued, but nothing happens. I tried the replace metedata option and it changes the art on the main collections folders, but not on my duplicate folders. Edited September 10, 2019 by LETHAL-DANgER
Luke 42078 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Please try the solution mentioned earlier in this topic. Thanks.
