Random and Missing Episodes since update

Since updating to 4.0.0.2 i have had issues where episodes have not been scanned in even after multiple library scans, this seems to be happening with more recent shows, for example a show is picked up but only 6 of the 11 episodes are seen, this one does correct itself if a new episode is added, so easily corrected if new episodes are upcoming.

I am also seeing an issue where a random show that i dont even watch is appearing as next up, even stranger is its not the first episode in the series, it will just be a random episodes like S1e12 and none of the other episodes are marked as being watched, on top of that behaviour after i watch one of my regular shows and emby removes it from next up that random episode will change to a completely different show, always something never watched. While i know from experience with major updates in all the years using emby the libraries can become unsettled, i have not seen anything like a constantly changing random episode and it doesn't seem to be going away. Is anyone else seeing anything like this?

I am also seeing a similar behaviour in movies, in that random old movies have been thrown in amongst latest releases after the initial update.

Also was the counter at the top of the web app removed? Used to be pretty handy especially after an update to know that everything had actually scanned in correctly, now i have no idea if the amount of videos emby is seeing is correct. When i realised items werent scanned in i noticed the count was gone so have no idea as to how many are missing and how bad it might be.

Make sure that the naming of the episodes that seem to be missing doesn't accidentally conform to our conventions for multiple-versions.

Hi, yes, can you please go over an example? Thanks.

No ebr, i don't even have the multi version option appear and as i said they correct themselves if a new episode is dropped in the folder, these are all shows that were scanned in just fine in the previous build. Basically i can force these to correct themselves the random episode however i cannot seem to fix.

As you can see in the pic below, it is showing The Vampire Diaries S6E1 as next up, now i never have and never will watch this show, my daughters do but for me not a single episode in the series is marked as watched.

Now the pic below, i have just watched the next episode of The Good Place and now the next up episode has changed again to another random show that i dont currently watch, no episodes are marked as watched yet its telling me Hunter S3E10 is next up.

I have done multiple library scans and cannot seem to get this one to stop happening.

The random item in Next Up is something that we are aware is happening to a few folks.

Can you please also show us specifics on the episodes that are not showing up at all?

Thanks.

@@ebr I'll see if i can find another mate, it was mostly new series that i picked up on it, as i went to watch one and noticed several missing, most of them i have gone through and added latest episodes forcing them to correct, i'll see if i can find another and screenshot it as well as grab the logs before and after it corrects.

it is showing The Vampire Diaries S6E1

is it possible you may have watched a few seconds of an episode, simply as a means of testing it? because that will cause this.

I have a item in Next up that rotates through my unwatched series as reported in the other topic.  Currently it has The Sopranos S06E02.  I don't know what triggers it to rotate but tomorrow it will be something different.  I only have one entry that does this, the other 15 are correct.

As a test it appear when any other item in the next up list is watched this rogue one rotates as I just make a episode as watch in another series and The Sopranos changed to S04E12.  So every time something is watched the rogue entry rotates.  When I marked the episode I marked a play, The Sopranos returned to S06E02.  At some point it will move to another series.

Definitely not watched a second of it mate, it's as @@Happy2Play described above, mine will change without fail after watching something else and it always changes to a random series and episode, they are always a series that has 0 episodes marked as watched and usually a random episode and not the first unwatched. However unlike the above mentioned mine always changes series, i haven't seen it move to another episode within the same series as yet.

Any word on this? It is fast becoming extremely frustrating and confusing my users as to why they continually have random episodes jamming up there next up list.
