Are music libraries supposed to have any artist or album info/bios?

As far as I can remember I have never had artist or album info. I get links to Musicbrainz shown up top but I never have any bio information on the screen, either on the artist or album pages. In looking a couple of months ago I saw replies from Emby saying wait for version 4, etc. Well I'm on the latest version 4 now (Ubuntiu Docker) and it's still the same. I've tried Identify, even though it is identified correctly already, I've tried various refreshes, etc. and nothing is working.

 

If I click the Musicbrainz links it brings me to their site with the correct artist/album and then I can see the bios but I thought music would be like movies and I would see it in Emby.

 

Also, I tried unchecking Musicbrainz to try and let AudioDB pick up the artist/albums and not only does AudioDB never populate their respective ID's, I still have links to Musicbrainz even though I unchecked it as fetchers AND cleared the ID's. Basically, with music the metadata is not working at all for me. Am I alone?

Hi, normally yes. Unfortunately due to a defect in the .NET Core runtime we have the Audiodb metadata provider disabled on all platforms outside of Windows and MacOS. This will be resolved with the .NET Core 3.0 update in March.

 

for now, you could install the lastfm plugin, which is based on musicbrainz id's, so you'd need to make sure your artists have those. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
