When you say "main page", do you mean the home page of the web app?

You can uncheck it on your home page settings:

Ideally this should be hidden until you actually start using playlists. We'll look at improving this. Thanks.

Yes please remove this.  It's so annoying when an update changes how everything looks for every single user.

Especially for a feature nobody cares about.

Can't see anything in those pics.

BUT check the USER permissions first.
Users Menu -> ACCESS TAB

Playlists will show up in the Library section.

Let us know if this was the problem or not.

Sorry the snagit made the picture very small - This is so strange....

User: --> ACCESS

If I unfold the Library section I get this:

I really don't see any "Playlists will show up in the Library section." ?

Question. Would it only show up once a playlist is created?

Do you actually HAVE any Playlists on your Home Screen or you are just trying to disable access in general?

Yeah, that's what I was trying to determine as well.

Correct I have never created any Playlists!

BUT by default it scans the Music directory and creates a mile long list in the side UI

So the solution would be to create a Playlist in order to disable it? LOL

I'd say system is picking up your m3u or pls files from the library itself, you could either delete those from your filesystem and rescan library or, alternatively, click each one and delete it from detail screen "More" (three dots) menu.

Yes, I'd agree you'll probably find m3u or m3u8 files in your music library that Emby is importing.
If you don't need or want them remove them at the file/folder level.

Really? The solution is to delete any playlist I have in my Music library?

I just want to disable the Playlist bar on the left side of the UI.

Make this visible for all Playlists as an option:

My only solution now is to remove Music and play that through another program (Kodi?)

Hi, tagging on to this as well...  I have for years, decades maybe, had a folder (long ago it was an external USB drive called "bigtunes" -- but now its a folder called Music under my Media volume on the NAS) of music sorted by genre, then artist/band, then album, and most of them are complete albums that have a _playlist.m3u file as well.  It's a little over 100k total files, including those playlist files.  Great when using VLC for playing the whole album.  I really don't want to delete all those.  I just want to get rid of the section on the left-hand-nav, because it looks like this.  "Collections" is listed there as well -- I might be using that feature incorrectly, I have for example all the James Bond movies in a Collection (I was hoping they'd show up as a 'group' under Movies, rather than individually, but they didn't).  In that use-case I don't need Collections on the left-hand-nav either.

From movie libraries click the 3 dot menu to open settings.

You can enable the first option highlighted above which will do exactly what you want.  You'll get an Entry for James Bond and none of the individual movies.

This is configurable on each client for every user so you could use groups on mobile or tablets but have the individual movies on Theater or web for example.

Give that a try and let us know what you think. :)

Sorry for the stupid Q, but now in 2022 I still cant find this feature 🙂

Cant see any way to disable the playlist on the side? (I have never created any playlists, it just shows the scanned ones on 1000 of music CD's)

BTW: I don't want to group any movies, just want to get rid of the Playlist 1 mile long on the sidebat
