Hi,

I have a weird random item in my next up display since my server updated to Version 4.0.1.0.

One entry picks a show and episode completely at random, completely ignoring watched status. The show that is selected persists through a library can and reboot. However it changes to a new show when I finish watching any other episode of any other show.

It also moves alone in the queue as you would expect being pushed back by new shows I have watched, until randomly getting reset to the first position again. At first I ignored it as I thought it would just get pushed out of the way but 4 times now it has been reset to the first position.

These pictures show the progress. In the first instance it is the 3rd episode showing, for Hercules, a series that is indeed in my library but I have not watched any episodes through emby, not even for a second. I have checked and all episodes are marked unwatched.

In the next instance I have finished watching Criminals Minds S1:E8 and the randomly shown episode updates from Hercules to an episode of The First, another show I have yet to watch at all.

In the third instance I watch an episode of Chicago PD and the random episode gets changed to Dexter, and pushed to the right. Another show with all episodes unwatched.

In this fourth instance I watched an episode of Law and order UK which was the last I had and the random show updated to Legacies, I have also started to watch an episode of fuller house before I remembered to take the screen shot.

After I finished the episode of Fuller house it updated to an episode of Breaking Bad. Usually after it gets off screen for a little while to the right it resets back to the first position.

It also occasionally picks a show already in next up. It seems completely random.

It is very bizarre,

Any Insight would be appreciated.

Sorry for the duplicate. I thought the first had disappeared or I had forgotten to hit submit. Didn't realize it had just been merged so I re-typed it the next morning

Experiencing the same thing

Yesterday it was Fargo that appeared (never watched that), today it's Star Trek the original series (never watched that either).

Weirdly my problem seems to have fixed itself...

I'll post an update if it comes back

I am also having the exact same issue. All of the users of my server have too. Either the second or third item is a show that I haven’t seen and it believes I’m half way through it.

I don’t know if it’s related however when I do a library scan I’m getting a few errors “ Error BaseItem: Found folder containing items with duplicate id” for a number of items.

Can anyone else confirm who’s gettings random items in their next up confirm if this is related by running a library scan and looking in the log?

As perhaps this is the cause as I suspect it’s an issue with the next up query.

More than happy to give you access to my server as it’s remote anyway. I’m running the amd64 version or of course provide logging etc. I do have a rather large library around the 41TB mark

I have people watching things at the moment but once the server is quiet (later tonight) I will remove all the duplicates and see if that is indeed the error. Looking at the logs from other people with the issue they all seem to have the duplicate items error appear.

Running this query I can see the duplicate ids so will remove them and report back.

sqlite3 library.db "SELECT id FROM MediaItems GROUP BY IndexNumber, ParentId HAVING count(IndexNumber) > 1 and count(ParentId) > 1"
