arche 177 Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 With version 4 coming out soon, is there any plans on maybe archiving the "General/Windows" part of the forums to 3.5 so that there maybe a new "General/Windows" section can be made for version 4 and there not such a mix between the major versions?
ebr 16171 Posted January 14, 2019 Posted January 14, 2019 Hi. No. The majority of the information will still be valid. Thanks.
One2Go 120 Posted January 15, 2019 Posted January 15, 2019 In regard to the update to version 4, will there be a guide / procedure just in case for some unforeseen circumstance what to do to go back to version 3.5? I realize there is a DB conversion is there a directory that can be made a backup of and then in case of restoring just copy it back or is there registry problems for the Windows version? Thanks O2G

Thanks O2G You could backup your entire \Emby-Server folder. As a minimum backup your library.db (\Emby-Server\programdata\data\library.db) and you should have v3.5.3.0 renamed system.old assuming the update did not have any issues as each update renames the current system folder to system.old to run the new system folder. (This is how I did migration testing) There are no registry keys.
