Version jump from 3.5 to 4.0... wow!

Just wanted to say I am super excited for the new version. Can't wait for it to be released. It's going to be a cascade of updates for me when version 4.0 hits. Updating Emby server, Emby for Kodi, and Kodi 18. It'll be like Christmas all over again!

Lol I think I'll have had emby for over two years by the time it is released which means I'll be buying another lifetime in order to use it. Booooo lol but emby is Soo worth it.

Luke and team have stated that you can use your existing lifetime license to upgrade to 4.0, no additional purchases needed.

Hmm that's weird. I know when I bought it it said two years of updates for sure and more on until the major version is over. And if a major version is released within those two years all updates for that version as well. I just assumed I would be buying it again. Was ready and willing but if I don't need to then I'll just donate some when the update comes out. Otherwise I'll just be buying it again.

 

Either way can't wait to try it out. Sooooo stoked. Is closed captioning still coming in this version for live TV?

They did at the time, but Emby is one of those awesome companies that actually listens to their customers and changed the "lifetime of the product version" to "lifetime of the product, period".
