Direct play streams in a plugin

I was trying to create a plugin and was using IPTV plugin as an example. It works but it always transcodes the streams. I put the stream into IPTV plugin and it behaves the same way. If I take the same stream (from vaders) and put into an m3u file and create a live tv tuner, it plays direct.

How can I accomplish this with my channel plugin? Is there an example I can follow?

There's no way you can control this from the plugin, but it's something we can always look to improve in the future. can you attach an ffmpeg log example? thanks.

Thanks for the quick reply. Attached ffmpeg log from a stream using IPTV plugin. Note, I can direct play this stream using Live TV.

Ok yea so live tv incorporates a probing process to get media info for the stream which allows for more optimal playback. This is something that hasn't yet been added to channel plugins but it's possible to look at it in the future. thanks.

Ok thanks. This would be a great improvement as currently the streams go through unnecessary transcoding that increases the startup time and cpu cycles.
