srolomc 2 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 I have been having trouble with chapter image extraction. I have enabled it in all of my libraries, but only a few videos seem to end up with .bif files in their folders when I run the extraction. I tried removing the "chapter-failures.txt" file and re-running as well, but that did not help. I am running my server on Fedora and am currently on the 4.0.0.0 beta version. I was previously on 3.5.3.0, but it behaved the exact same way with respect to chapter image extraction. I have attached my log to this email, The extraction start can be found at the following timestamp: 2019-01-11 20:13:37.024 If anyone has a chance to take a look at this log to see if something jumps out at them, that would be helpful. Thanks! embyserver-63682848000.txt
Luke 42078 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Your log is filled with successful chapter image extractions. Looks like there's nothing to worry about. Occasionally it will fail with certain files.
srolomc 2 Posted January 12, 2019 Author Posted January 12, 2019 So when I try to fast forward on my Roku, I don't see thumbnails for all of my movies. One of the ones that worked was also one that happened to have .bif files in its media folder. I think I just found my problem though, I think I have some permissions issues in my media folders that is preventing the Roku thumbnails from being created, so I will try to resolve those and see if the problem persists.
Solution srolomc 2 Posted January 13, 2019 Author Solution Posted January 13, 2019 Everything seems to be working now; I was looking at chapter extraction instead of the Roku thumbnails which is what I really wanted. Once I looked for that in the logs it was obvious that I had a permissions issue.
