zsoltsuhajda 4 Posted April 9, 2019 Author Posted April 9, 2019 This is when there is no audio https://ibb.co/TcH8CNQ
Guest asrequested Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 Can you try connecting the HDMI directly to the TV, and try playing them again?
Guest asrequested Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 I get the same result Well, I'm out of ideas. I'm stumped.
Luke 42077 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 You said some of the movies - is it the ones with the ac3 audio codec?
zsoltsuhajda 4 Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 All of them ac3, bitrate differs. It looks like 384kbps and lower bitrate ac3 is not playing
Guest asrequested Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 So everything 448 and up, plays just fine?
zsoltsuhajda 4 Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Just found a movie with 384kbps played fine, and another 384kbps no audio, and a 448kbps no audio. So there is no logic.
Guest asrequested Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Also, compare the frequencies. i.e. 384 at 48khz and/or 384 at 44.1khz etc.
Guest asrequested Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Bizarre! I wonder if it has something to do with how it's muxed/encoded?
zsoltsuhajda 4 Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) I don't have better idea, so this is a sample, where I don't have audio, please try to test it on xbox. Thanks! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JgqnQ0ZkGswTF5Bn-DgpF1l5Dih5kUIo/view?usp=sharing 6ch, 448kbps, 48khz Edited April 10, 2019 by zsoltsuhajda
Guest asrequested Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) Well, I don't get sound on the AC3 track, when using the store app. So I can reproduce this. No audio is sent to my receiver. Edited April 10, 2019 by Doofus 1
zsoltsuhajda 4 Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 Ac3 should be there top https://ibb.co/5cV2DpM
Guest asrequested Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) Ok this is bizarre. As is, the AC3 audio won't play. If I remux it and remove the DTS audio, it plays, but it does have a bit of a jerky start. But if remux it and put the AC3 audio as the second track and DTS first (switch them), then it plays perfectly. Edited April 14, 2019 by Doofus
Godfather67 0 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Well, I don't get sound on the AC3 track, when using the store app. So I can reproduce this. No audio is sent to my receiver. It's good to hear somebody else can reproduce the problem. We are awaiting for resolution for a while. Just fyi, the issue can be reproduced by Emby store application on Windows 10 also. Desktop application can play AC3 track at the same movie, therefore the issue not binding to Xbox, but to store application.
Senna 368 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I don't have better idea, so this is a sample, where I don't have audio, please try to test it on xbox. Thanks! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JgqnQ0ZkGswTF5Bn-DgpF1l5Dih5kUIo/view?usp=sharing 6ch, 448kbps, 48khz That file does a lot of things (server 4.1.0.23). In Store app: - with no subtitles selected DD5.1, sound plays for a split second only (direct play). - with default subtitle selected DD5.1, sound plays (direct stream) In Xbox app (HDMI bitstream off Xbox One S sound settings): - with no subtitles selected DD5.1, sound plays (transcoding). - with default subtitle selected DD5.1, sound plays (transcoding) But there seems to be a problem now with the Xbox Emby app, because it doesn't register the auto settings for Video settings>Home network quality. It always transcodes now on my system, even when lowering Home network quality settings to 20Mbps. What does the file do for Xbox users with sound problems ? Is it transcoding, direct streaming or does it direct play.
zsoltsuhajda 4 Posted April 12, 2019 Author Posted April 12, 2019 Finally figured out: -When there are 2 audio tracks ac3& dts, then only dts plays. -When there are 2 same type tracks, for e.g ac3&ac3 or dts & dts, plays fine both -After remuxing ac3&dts type mkv with only ac3, then plays fine. Unluckily in my country, 90% of the movies have this mixed audio track type. Is it possible to fix it?
Guest asrequested Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Try playing one in Windows Media player. Do you get the same problem?
Guest asrequested Posted April 13, 2019 Posted April 13, 2019 I was testing your sample in Windows Media Player, and it always played the DTS track with no option to switch to the AC3. So I decided to look at the headers in mkvtoolnix. The option for default track wasn't set. So I added the element and selected, yes. Now it plays the AC3, and when I play it in the emby app, it plays the AC3 audio. So there would seem to be an issue with that.
zsoltsuhajda 4 Posted April 15, 2019 Author Posted April 15, 2019 (edited) Thank you for testing. Is there any applicable script to solve this, automatically? Edited April 15, 2019 by zsoltsuhajda
Bazzu85 22 Posted April 28, 2019 Posted April 28, 2019 (edited) Hi, I'm having this problem too on xbox one ET.. modifying the "default track flag" in header editor doesn't resolve the problem for me.. I tried to re-multiplex the file mantaining the 2 tracks and doesn't resolve.. Removing the secondary english track, the italian track plays fine.. As the other user report, switching to the other ENGLISH DTS track (from ITALIAN AC3 5.1) the audio plays.. here's the direct play stats: Edited April 28, 2019 by Bazzu85
Yotengrit 1 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Have you guys found a solution to this Audio problem? I have it and it just happened, like one day I had sound for both ENG and HUN audio tracks, but now on certain movies the HUN track won't play. I use Emby Theater on the Xbox One.
