Library Show Items From Another Library

I have just set up two separate music libraries - one for myself and one for a user, each library has it's own respective folder on my server. Some of the music in my library I've copied over to theirs and then run a library scan to pick them up, so far so good.

However, when I browse to one of the albums within their music library which I know is also in mine, I am seeing duplications - one file belonging to them and one file belonging to me. If I am within a certain library, surely this should only show content within that library?

I feel like I've used the word library a lot, does the above make sense?

Edit: I think I can see what the issue is. I'm looking at an artist - which then takes me to the artist page and therefore shows me all media on my server by that artist, regardless of library. Immediate answer is I remove my user's library from my own Emby login under Users -> Le Moi -> Access. To be honest I don't know what solution to suggest for this as it's a structural thing.

Artists are shared, so currently artist detail screens will pull from all libraries.

Yeah I don't think there's really an answer to my problem as I'm intentionally duplicating files. Will come back to it another day.

@Luke , am I right in understanding that if I navigate Home > My Library > Albums > My Album, you are saying that I should not be able to see items from another library because I can... Any albums that exist in both libraries are merged, regardless of how I get to them.

You currently will but yes something that needs to be reviewed in future updates. Thanks.

Since everything is by embedded metadata, same album in different library will be merged.  So say you have flac and mp3 libraries of the same media, they will be merged in both libraries.

Understood, thanks for clarifying. Following @notla49285 I have simply removed access to both libraries for my user.

Unfortunately, this means that I might have to [shudders] merge my library with my GF's. I will hold out for future review.

I'm exactly having this situation, and the current status is, I can't use EMBY for playing an album, as every song is played twice?
Seriously? Why is it this way? When will this be fixed? (The initial post is from 2019, so quite some to time have it fixed.)
As for my understanding, it's not an intended behavior at all. Who may want it working that way?

For the time being, how to cirumvent this? I won't reduce access, because not all music is duplicated as mp3 and flac.

Hi, this is on our list for review. One workaround in the meantime would be to play using folder view.
